fyi, I have been reporting every comment that says this. It’s unnecessary spam, and rather disrespectful.
The gore isn’t really the problem. This game is already filled to the brim with gore, and gore by itself isn’t scary (especially with Isaac’s art style). The issue is the atmosphere of the fight. Making the music standard boss music without those unsettling sound effects would alone make the fight a lot more digestible, though, so that’s good to know.
you signed up for this kind of thing
As I said in the OP, Isaac has never been a horror game. It has a lot of grotesque stuff and dark themes, but none of it is designed to scare the player. “Horror” isn’t even one of the Steam tags listed for the game.
So of course, if a boss that feels like it came out of a creepypasta is added to the game, I’ll have gripes with it. Fiend Folio has otherwise stuck with Isaac’s morbid cartoon style, so it even feels out of place within the context of the mod.
This isn’t criticism of whoever made the boss, but regarding the boss fight itself and concerns with its atmosphere for us timid people. I haven’t said a word against the mod creators.
while yes the Fiend Folio team are pretty good with comedic stuff, they are also pretty good with horror and creepy stuff, and i hope they keep on doing what they are doing
