Maybe I missed it but I dont recall seeing an option to disable them at all, so if there isnt, then yeah I recommend not picking the item cus it does get pretty annoying overall.
Yeah I saw this option but the fortunes still end up covering half of the screen because of the item. I guess I just won't take the item no matter how good the effects are lol
Had a run in which I had high tear rate and picked up the item, and it really started getting on my nerves not being able to see the top half of the screen, since it was constantly bombarded with fortune pop-ups
Or at least have the item's fortune rate go WAY down from what it currently is.
Alright.
I dunno if this is just me being weird, but I kinda have the feeling you're a bit peeved with my post. If my initial post was rude in any way, I did not mean that.in the slightest and I mean no offense towards the team behind Fiend Folio. I'm enjoying the mod! The sheer amount of effort and love put into it is not only admirable but downright impressive. I'm just saying that this item could be tweaked for a better user experience.
At one point I assumed that the rapid frequency of the fortunes appearing on the top of the screen was a form of a "downgrade", akin to the Retro Vision pill obscuring the gameplay in a similar fashion, but now it just seems like an unintended effect. I just thought that maybe a tweak in the settings menu to adjust the frequency of the fortunes when picking up Leftover Takeout. Something to consider.
Best of luck with your future endeavors and have a nice day!
I see, but in my opinion, a downside shouldn't obscure half of the screen. I can't think of any other item that's this obstructive besides Retro Vision, which is kind of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pill if you ask me.
When I think of items with downsides, I think of stats going down or a bigger hitbox, not something that makes the game downright annoying to play.
