Weapon Enchantments
The scaling of certain enchantments breaks progression
Hi! I love this mod very much, but I have some feedback regarding the power scaling of some enchantments.

Damage enchantments, for example, are insanely strong, even at base level. A 4% damage increase is equally good at every stage of the game, because as your weapon damage increases, so does the damage increased by the enchantment, and so with a fully upgraded crafting station you will have an endgame weapon with at least a 16% damage increase. This is a huge boost in damage that completely breaks the progression of terraria, and even with mods, as in Calamity death mode I noticed bosses getting noticeably easier thanks to that.

Other enchantments, like defense, are much weaker because they scale with a flat number increase, so they do scale according to the power level of armors at that stage of the game.

The problem is not so much the difference in power between the two, but I wanted to illustrate how much the damage enchantments affect difficulty progression, and so I wanted to ask either for a way to ban certain enchantments in the config menu, or to include a mechanic in the mod to adjust for the exponential increase in player power, like enemies getting a boost to stats after killing certain bosses, or something like that.

Thank you for your work :shcscribe:

Hi, Lo que te haga feliz. I feel fairly good about where the enchantments are, so I don't plan to make any changes.

HOWEVER, there are a ton of Server Config options that allow you to adjust the strength of enchantments. You can adjust them all together, by tier, or each enchantment individually. Individually would obviously take a long time, but you can set them all to a value you're mostly satisfied with the global setting then adjust any outliers.

I try to have it somewhere in the middle so that the majority of players either don't have to touch the settings, or only change a few small things.
Thanks for replying, I've gone and manually reduced the scaling of percentage based enchantments and lower the global scaling per tier, it feels better now!

Tho I keep thinking about ways to adjust the enemy scaling not just for this mod, but for others that give a raw power increase to the player, like some "QoL" ones. I haven't found any mod that does exactly that, so once I'm done with my exams I'll try to get into modding

I made a small effort in that direction with the Cursed enemies in the Curses update because they are extra enemies that don't count towards max spawn cap and apply debuffs, but not really intended as a method of only making the game harder. Was a risk vs reward choice since you can lure them with cursed essence. I personally think Terraria is very hard (I'm bad). I struggle to beat vanilla on Expert even with Weapon Enchantments.

Hei man, i feel you very much, i also suck at this game but i decided to play on the highest difficulty possible. Without a combination of weapon enchantments and augments, i wouldnt get anywhere haha
