Total War: WARHAMMER III

Cpecific's Traits Manager (+win64)

Change generic lord and hero starting traits?
There are a lot of comments asking for this feature, is it possible? For reference things like Disciplined, Strategist, Tough, and Strong. Plus there are the faction specific lord and hero traits that it may be fun to play with on other factions.

No. They are not traits. Maybe I will implement this feature one day, but it will be one big hassle.

Thanks for clarifying.

Best way right now is to save your lv1 hero with your preferred trait, so you can load it again in another campaign. Doesn't really help with your starter heroes, though

I understand its hard to change the innate trait, but can we add more innate traits? (like make a table that a copies of all the innate traits and allow to to be added threw the trait manager like they are traits?) As a work around?

I envision my high elf captain with all the good innate traits. There was a mod in WH2 that let you spawn in a hero with what ever trait you wanted for the HE faction.

I dunno if you could glean anything useful from it, but this was one I used from 2:

Might be the same one the previous guy mentioned but it says it should work for all factions. That said by the time I found it I don't think I got around to using it for anything other than getting Dragon-Willed on Princes for an Imrik game before 3 came along, and now I'm trying to make an ogre hero stack with the bruisers mod. Seems insane to me this hasn't been recreated or ported yet. I don't need all the extra bells and whistles, just the ability to pick/swap the innate trait.

Definitely would love to see this too. I know it would probably be a lot of work, but it would be such a nice feature to have. Especially for starting heroes in a campaign who start with a terrible trait.

This would be so good rather than recruiting and disbanding lords / heroes constantly!

"They are not traits."
Are... are you sure about that? Y'know. How they like. I dunno. Appear under the TRAIT HEADER?!

They aren't traits in the game code.
Doesn't matter where they appear in game.

Yep would be nice. My Conventional Engineer Dwarfs I saved got screwed up somehow and are a high level with no skills or skill points. After a few hours of searching can't find any way to fix this or easily get new characters with good traits. Having a Noble Empire Lord at the start is also extremely helpful for Karl Franz but after restarting 15 times it was just not in the cards for me.

This would be a really cool addition to the mod. There are so many interesting starting skills that would be cool if added into the trait manager - if even possible.

The work around for this is to create a mod that sets the traits you want to basically always 100% of the time show up. Then, you run a campaign for 10-15 turns, and you recruit and save all the lords with the traits you want. Then disable the mod. Then you just recruit the lord with the trait you want via the load button.

If I was gonna learn all that I would just figure out how to make it so one of every trait always spawns in the recruitment pool or on a specific turn. That way anyone could pick the trait that they want. Only issues with that is the starting heroes can be bad so would probably make a mod to set a cool trait for them like Tommy Phil has with Thorgrim although I would remove their ability to get a second generic trait. I just would rather keep learning spanish and guitar than spend time learning to mod so I don't. I appreciate people who do learn to mod and like to talk to my friends who have chosen that path. None of them mod this game though.
