Community suggestions thread
We're bad with balancing. And our ideas of what works sometimes doesn't mesh well with the general community, which we would like to have. Additionally, others might have ideas we do not.

Please post any suggestions or additions here to you'd like to see!

Added to to-do list.

I love the changes to the cost for the primitive and palm tree. Mongolia seems still a bit excessive: I think by reducing gold cost to 75 or lower to 3 components should do the trick. Lastly (and I do not know if you have already planned to change this), the beauty value is still a bit off: a normal quality wooden pot with a lily = 19 beauty, while an excellent quality wooden metacore MK1 pot with a TU-II = 9.
Hope this helps

The Mangolia was supposed to have it's recipe changed as well, but was missed. Ty for pointing it out! It's updated.

bigger variation? like using the models of ingame plants and trees but in your mechanised colors and textures?
maybe even a color change so we can chooce what color the leaves are?

if thats possible for you to do ofcourse. blue is nice. but what if i wanted purple or yellow?

Remember that this mod states that it was a personal project, and the only content done was based on experience and preferability. Other plants and colors weren't made simply because they weren't wanted fore what content was desired.

Same thing exists with another personal mod that may come out (plant weaponry). A shotgun and SMG exists, but there's no sniper, LMG, AR, etc. because either A: there hasn't been the time to make them, or B: they aren't applicable to what was wanted when the mod was made.

This mod would have came out with bigger variation if it was intended as a community mod, for sure. But since it was not, and was only made public because we thought people would find the little content within neat, there is only minimal content now.

More plants, plant types (i.e. factory and power generation plants), will come along as art is made. And the color idea is on the to-do list, but would require some texture tweaking and C# knowledge, which - as of now - would take too much time to do quickly.

There's currently three more plants being made, specifically due to this mod now being public. More variety is on the way, and will be dripped into the mod as it is done. It just takes time.

Added in!

For anyone following, need some input. I've been thoroughly looking into various color options, and the ideal method isn't possible for plants, even with C# (the function requires a shaders, which is made in Unity itself). So, would like to ask what a preferred solution may be:

1: Plants have colors, but technically each plant is independent of one another. The blue and red ones have different def names, for example. This gets around the color issue and keeps them as plants, but may crowd the planting menu.

2: The plants are no longer plants, but instead constructions. This allows the plants to have various colors, but they must now be built, and are no longer considered plants by the game (which defeats the plans of matching biomes).

Any thoughts?

Hey I saw the post in the main comment section. I'd rather have the plants remain plants (not constructions), and just add a couple of color variations to the menu. Not too many varations for clutter. In case, depending if people were to not like the clutter, I suggest creating a new workshop mod for the original mod (no color variations) and one with color variations. The two mods would of course link each other so people reading the description can pick the other one if they like it more

This may have to be the direction it goes. There IS a much more elegant solution (something like the Ideology "change style" system), but it requires a bit of C# I can't make or afford.

It'll probably be just be red, green, and blue for now. Hopefully the desired system comes in, and I can have at least 8 or so total per plant.

Ty for the input! I wasn't sure whether I should wait or not.

Since they are a holographic/scifi plant, I would suggest more neon colors like purple, deep blue and cyan... just to give them a bit of flavor. If not, the basic three colors should do

Oh, for sure. The cyan look plants have is staying, and the others will have just as neon-like colors. Same goes with any future colors.

If these can be dictated through the Architect menu, there will be an individual tab to keep clutter clear. If they go by cores, colors may be switched through a workbench or a popup menu. All ways are clunky, but it's the best that can be done at the moment.

That does not sound to bad of a plan :) can't wait to try them out!
