ARK: Survival Evolved

[DISCONTINUED - NO LONGER UPDATED] RRGs ARK - Vanilla Reworks
This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important
RRG  [developer] Dec 30, 2021 @ 6:09am
Creature Changes
Allosaurus:
No longer loses 10% of speed after tame
Changed footstep and roar sounds
Can now roar even without pack
Bite damage increased to 40 from 35
Gets gang bonus of up to 3 (before it didn’t get gang bonus)
Alpha jaw swing damage increased to 60 and no longer causes bleeding. It causes a debuff on the victim that buffs the damage of nearby allosaurus by 20%

Ankylosaurus:
Doubled its size
Now tames on exceptional kibble
Movement speed increased, it’s now fairly agile but still a slow tank
Bite damage increased to 35
Tail swing damage increased to 65 and does a crippling effect for 4 seconds, cannot be refreshed or stacked. When the effect is worn off, the victim gets a buff that prevents it from being crippled another 2 seconds. Use this to run away or get closer to the anky.
Modified tail slam sound and particles
Now has 15% natural resistance
HP increased to 900 from 700
Weight increased to 600 from 250
Drag weight increased to 550 from 160
Torpor increased to 1100
Gets massive projectile damage reduction all over the back, tail and head (80%)

Anky is now a rex tier creature, as it should have been. It is still really useful as a metal and flint harvester, though. Taming it is now more difficult, however, and it is much more dangerous in the wild.

Argentavis:
Increased claw damage to 30 from 25
Gets 20% speed with imprinting

Carnotaurus:
Stamina increased to 350 from 300
Recovers stamina quicker than before
Movement speed increased (carno was one of the fastest theropods in real life)
Bite damage increased to 40 from 35
Horn stab damage type changed to projectile. This means that creatures where projectiles do extra damage to the head will receive more damage from this attack! Likewise, creatures like anky with great projectile protection will take reduced damage from it. Play smart! This attack can be deadly if properly used.
Now uses most of old carno’s sounds, they were much better
Added a C roar/taunt for aesthetics
Can have rider weaponry

Elasmosaurus/Plesio:
Now called Elasmosaurus as it should have been
It is now a neutral creature that spawns in shallow reefs
Passively tamed at lvl 65
HP reduced to 1800 from 2400
Bite damage reduced to 60 from 75
Added a cuddle/levelup animation
Added a taunt/roar for aesthetics
Can now turn much faster and turn in place
Has infinite stamina like iguanodon
Movement speed slightly decreased so it doesn’t instantly outclass ichthyosaurus
Can harvest pearls with its bite
Bite now instantly kills small fish and eurypterid and does extra (x1.5) damage to megalodon, manta, electrophorus and ammonite
Protects its rider from ammonite’s rage debuff and is immune to it

Hopefully Elasmosaurus is now closer to the real creature than it is now in ARK. A shallow water, fish hunting and seafloor scavenger, not a “whatever’s in my range of sight is dead” creature.

Equus:
Minimally increased movement speed (I don’t know the exact number, it is like 4-5% faster)
Changed its taming settings to those of Parasaur. Carrots will be much more effective, but it won’t take 800 berries to be tamed now. Testing at x1 taming settings, a lvl 16 takes around 16 mejoberries to get tamed
Taming won’t be resetted if the horse is damaged
Equus will now attempt to throw you at intervals of 7 to 10 seconds, instead of 7 to 47 seconds. Thus making Equus taming much faster and more interactive, but actually requires attention

I don’t get why Equus is so difficult to tame. By the time you’re properly able to tame one, you already have a trike, a carno or a stego, which do its job but better

Gallimimus:
Can now be passively tamed at lvl 29
Now has a taunt/roar aesthetic attack
Can now be bola’d again
Doesn’t take fall damage
Footstep and landing from jump sounds changed

Ichthyosaurus:
Moderately increased its size and made it thinner
Rider now lies down to ride it instead of like a jetski
Modified all of its sounds, it has some custom ones but most of them are from astrodelphis.
Increased levelup values
HP increased to 300 from 250
Weight increased to 325
Bite now insta-kills small fish
Has a cuddle/Levelup animation
Added an aesthetic chortle/echolocation sound

Pachyrhinosaurus:
HP increased to 420
Stamina increased to 300
Weight increased to 380
Torpor increased to 500
Movement speed quite increased
Stamina consumption greatly decreased
Gets pack boost of up to 4 (five pachyrhinos in the pack)
Taming settings are those of trike now. No more bug repellant to tame them (why wildcard?)
Headbutt damage increased to 36 from 28
New attack with X key, poisonous pheromone cloud. Pachyrhino releases a cloud of poison simmilar to lymantria’s spores, that slows down enemy creatures. Like lymantria’s spore cloud, if used near a creature that’s being passively tamed, its food will be rapidly dropped, massively speeding up those boring passive tamings.

Parasaurolophus/Parasaur:
Now called Parasaurolophus
Increased movement speed. Now wild and tamed parasaurs run at the same speed
Bite damage increased to 22 from 12
Wild parasaurs are now neutral until low health
Removed the cooldown on the hoarse/honk (nobody’s going to hunt you down on a pack of raptors, and you will absolutely need this for the mod’s raptors.)
HP increased to 250 from 200
Torpor increased to 200 from 150
Swimming speed increased, as the dossier states they’re decently fast in water
Size increased by aproximately 20%

Phiomia:
Increased movement speed
Can now be passively tamed at lvl 5
Bite attack can now be done while moving and harvests fiber
Gestation and growth times reduced by half, to further endorse their cattle niche

Hopefully there’s at least some incentive to tame the poor old and forgotten phiomia now
Pteranodon:
Flying speed greatly increased - they are now the fastest “basic” flyer in the game. Tropeognathus with jet on, diving griffins, bloodstalkers, managarmrs, maewings and rock drakes are still faster
Levelup values increased - a levelled up pteranodon no longer is as horrible as a fresh tamed one
HP increased to 250 from 210
Stamina increased to 210 from 150
Weight increased to 200 from 120
Torpor increased to 200 from 100
Gets bonus speed with imprinting

Rex:
Gets gang bonus of 3 (Up to 4 rexes in the pack). Tyrannosaurus hunted in packs/families back in the late Cretaceous
Aggro range reduced by two thirds. Apex predators are only murderous when hungry
Modified roar sound by mixing Rex’s old and new roars and can be done while moving
Movement speed slightly increased
Bite damage increased to 70 from 62
New item!! Old Rex Costume. Bring back the nostalgia of ark and make your rex look like the Pre-TLC one! Costs 1 rex arm to make and can be learnt at lvl 1, costing 0 engrams

Soon you’ll realize that the power scale of this mod is slightly higher than default ark’s. Tamed creatures will be stronger than before, but wild creatures will become much more dangerous to fight.

Raptor/Utahraptor:
Name changed to Utahraptor
Now uses most of old raptor’s sounds, oversized chicken noises don’t make raptor intimidating
Fixed the god awful “bite speed is massively slown down if walking or running” bug that’s been present since day 1 of raptor’s TLC and literally only takes 1 click to fix, making raptor an actually powerful and useful mount.
Gets pack boost of up to 4 (5 raptors in the pack)
Roar no longer boosts and can be done even if it’s not an alpha of a pack
Bite damage increased to 25 from 15
HP increased to 220 from 200
Weight increased to 210 from 140
Stamina increased to 180 from 150
Movement speed GREATLY increased. Nowhere and nothing is safe from raptors. Except raptors… and gallimimus.
Doesn’t take fall damage
Jump height increased
Footstep and jump landing sounds changed
Pounce is no longer a pounce, but a toeclaw attack. It has a cooldown of 4 seconds and inflicts deinon-like bleed
New item! Old Raptor Costume. Bring back the nostalgia with this costume that will make your raptor look like the pre-tlc one. Costs 1 alpha raptor claw to craft and can be learnt at lvl 1 for 0 engrams. WARNING: the eyelids in the old raptor mesh are… glitchy and will look extremely cursed. Use this at your own risk or if you want to have a laugh.

Megalosaurus:
HP reduced to 850 from 1034
Weight increased to 450 from 300
Bite damage reduced to 72 during the night and 60 during the day
Increased movement speed
Reworked groggy debuff. Megalosaurus isn’t so sluggish now, but it takes x2 damage during the day and does x0.7 damage
Is now a passive tame. Approach during the day when it’s asleep and feed it. It will wake up, but you will have a 12 second window to hide from it. After a certain time it will go to sleep again. Min level to tame is 74
Requires RVR Megalosaurus Saddle to ride because for some reason vanilla megalo saddle won’t work with modded ones. It is unlocked at lvl 74
Modified footstep and roar sounds
Can now maul creatures of up to 251 drag weight. (Carno is 250)
Howling/Roaring during the night now activates the “Night Lord” buff, which increases damage resistance by 15% and damage output by 15%. Lasts 30 seconds and has a 2 minute cooldown
Almost doubled it’s size (it’s slightly smaller than a rex)
Aberrants now sleep during the day
Regens similar to argentavis by mauling creatures in its jaws
Maul damage changed to 45 during the day and 100 during the night
Now spawns in jungles, badlands, sunken forest and rarely in mountains

Mammoth:
Increased movement speed
Increased hp to 900
Increased torpor to 800
Can now do the tusk jab/sweep attack while moving
It is now really aggressive
Changed roar sound to that of an elephant’s trumpet, and tusk attack sounds to proper elephant sounds
Changed footstep sound to that of mammoth instead of paracer (yes mammoth has a custom walk sound that it doesn’t use in vanilla)
Can have rider weaponry
Press Left Ctrl + X for ce mamut XD

Hesperornis:
No longer will aggro you just because
Taming requires way less fish now and can be fed every 15 seconds
Swimming with hesperornis or having one on your shoulder will grant you a swimming boost that will increase your character’s swimming speed by 400%. Doesn’t stack with flippers though!

Yutyrannus:
- HP decreased to 780 from 1100
- Stamina increased to 500 from 400
- As its dossier states, Yutyrannus “strikes fear into even the Island’s most skilled hunters”. Its terrifying roar can now scare carnivores of up to 1000 drag weight and herbivores of up to 1100 drag weight.
- The only creatures that cannot be scared by Yutyrannus are Reapers, deep sea creatures, Titanosaurs, Titans and other Yutyrannus. Giganotosaurus, Brontosaurus and Rex will take more than 1 roar to scare.
- Movement speed increased to compensate for the drop in health
- Bite attack extra animations removed, now always attacks while moving and attacks more rapidly
- AI roar cooldown changed to every 30 seconds. Yutyrannus will only roar occasionally, allowing them to pursue prey much better than before
- Yutyrannus now travel in packs of 2 to 3 individuals and no longer are friends with Carnos (trying to fix this caused me too much brain damage so I’m gonna just do this)
- Roar sounds changed NOW THEY ARE PROPER ROARS
- Added VR Yutyrannus Costume
- Scare roar now costs 125 stamina instead of 250
- Courage roar now costs 150 stamina instead of 250
- Stamina drain per second while running decreased to 25 from 40
- Oxygen increased to 600 for the funnies (if it can roar that loudly it must have really big lungs idk)
- Added X-Yutyrannus, this one doesn’t spawn in packs because genesis’ tundra biome is stupid and won’t let me do it, but at least X-yuties are strong enough to deal with creatures on their own

Spinosaurus:
- Now called Spinosaurus instead of Spino
- Size increased by approximately 20% to represent size difference between irl Spinosaurus aegyapticus and Tyrannosaurus rex
- Reduced claw swipe damage to 50 from 60
- Increased hp from 700 to 820
- Increased weight from 350 to 420
- Increased torpidity
- Roar sound changed
- Footstep sound slightly modified
- Can now sprint underwater
- Can’t lose oxygen underwater
- Hydration buff changed to “River King buff”. While in shallow water, Spinosaurus gains double health regen and a 50% boost to melee damage, effectively pushing the 50 melee claw swipe to 75 melee claw swipe. Spinosaurus won’t beat Rex outside rivers, but if you are caught by a spino near water, RUN
- Added VR Spinosaurus Costume
-Added Corrupted Spinosaurus, X-Spinosaurus, Aberrant Spinosaurus

Megaloceros:
- Size increased by approximately 25%
- HP increased to 400 from 320
- Weight increased to 320 from 220
- Movement speed slightly adjusted, now run cycle feels more natural and less stressful to look at
- Jump distance greatly decreased and jump height increased
- Male horn stab does 45 base damage, female headbutt (right click) does 20 base damage
- Both male and female harvest berries with C
- Gives rider insulation buff
- Can have packs of up to 5 individuals
- If a female is in a pack of at least 4 megaloceros, it will receive the “Matriarch” buff, gaining x2 melee damage and making the entire pack untargeted by wolves, saberteeth and daeodon

Magmasaur:
- Smelt mode crafting speed increased by x5
- Movement speed decreased (it now bites while running so it isn't too bad, plus I don't get why magmasaur is faster than rex in vanilla)
- Can now bite while running, bite harvests meat and hide like a normal carnivore
- X is a claw attack, harvests stone and metal
- Spit now takes 10 raw metal to shoot instead of 1 metal ingot
- Rotation and movement speed while charging shot slightly increased to 0.5 from 0.2
- Has a very low chance to spawn with Albino colors
- Taunt now increases melee damage by 50%, effectively turning magmasaur’s already disgusting 120 base damage into an awful 180 base damage for 15 seconds. Cannot be refreshed until the buff wears off. Furthermore, any creature that attacks your magmasaur while it’s taunting will be set on fire and receive a 5% damage recoil.
- Taunt cloud turned into a reddish, fiery cloud
- O is now a cosmetic roar
- Stat scaling is now much better
- Base hp reduced to 2000 from 3000 (vanilla magmasaur has 3k base hp. Had to nerf it because with the new stat scaling it’d be incredibly busted)
- Magmasaur takes x2.5 damage from tropical crystal wyvern water breath and x2 from RVR ankylosaurus, doedicurus and explosions
- Added VR Magmasaur Costume
- Magmasaur now stands where it should, being an absolute tanking melee beast with the ability to shoot at a distance. Fighting it with melee is a poor choice, but Ankylosaurus can really dent through its rocky shell. Ranged damage is your best choice against a magmasaur, if you don’t have a tropical crystal wyvern at hand.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll fix it in a second. The creature changes so far are listed in the latest patch note here in steam, you can take a look there in the meantime

Looks like steam won't let google docs be opened from the page, so I'll just do it the old school way, even if it's less organized lol
I downloaded this yesterday and really like it so far, but man are mammoths giant ♥♥♥♥♥ now. :steamhappy:

Yeah lol, Elephants can be really territorial in real life. I suppose mammoths would be as well. Might reduce their aggro range a bit though, it's a bit too high.

Is there a chance to replace the Carno walk sound with one less intense (for its size at least). The I think the Megalosaurus walking sound would fit it better for instance.

i have kind of like a big suggestion if your planning on adding giga as a reworked creature and its to add these sounds from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LU8hN_Xmm8 this is just a suggestion plus idk if you already had plans on this and its just your decision on adding this when you want or not lol anyways great mod:steamthumbsup: (or if you want you could also add the old giga roars which would be awesome as well probably either as a second roar or just the main roar
