yea like this person totally owns the rights to ghidorah, if thats your reason on not adding a kaiju that would be sad, and invalid, and also doesnt make sense considering this dev would problebly never fall for a scam like "just cause i showed you a well known kaiju, one of the MOST well known kaijus correction now you cant add it, even though i have nothing to do with ghidorah whatsoever and have no rights or grounds to even say this."

y' know you can, like, look up the folks who make these models and see their terms of use? They're out there in the MMD space. The Ghidorah model may have no public use depending on which one it is (seriously there's that many of them). I know the Mechagodzilla in question sure isn't, and I've also seen a Gyaos with the exact same terms. Some folks don't want their models getting out there. You might not 'buy' it, but them's the breaks, kid.

and uh, yeah, you probably don't wanna argue legality on this side because down that path leads to "Toho/Warner nukes all of these for infringing on their copywrite". Happened with Monster Hunter. No reason it couldn't happen to these mods. Mind Toho tend to be pretty chill about this sort of thing

Don't draw attention to them, and especially don't piss off the model makers. That gives them the highest chance of sticking around. I'm not saying that someone tracking down the model makers and basically dumping the comment system of these mods on them would result in more of these mods ending up private, but, its a very real possibility

Mind the internet suffers from link rot and everything online will eventually fade in time

is warner/im assuming that the second one was the godzilla creaters REALLY the ones who said no? or just some random idiot who showed kronos the kaiju, regardless i just checked with the devs on thier discord and can confrim you are wrong, ghidorah is still being worked on, and he will eventually be added. oh, and same goes for rodan.


also if the original godzilla owners said no ghidorah then i would MORE then respect that, but thats not really where the proof Ive found is leading.

Nah it was the person who made the RPO MechaGodzilla model. That's why its not coming out publicly. Rodan and Ghiddy are on their way, but there were some other considered Ghidorah models that weren't selected because of similar "This cannot be released publicly" issues like RPO MechaGodzilla

Other folks made the models so they can go 'yeah that's not coming out for everyone'. Them's the breaks. Welcome to the world of unofficial kaiju models

That's the terms of use for Riot having the model, and he shelled out the money for it, so its, his. His private mod. Not for us.

If its released? That breaches the terms of how it was released to him, and you've burnt your bridge with the community who makes those Kaiju models. They won't make things for you ever again. And those folks talk, so not a case of 'find another model maker'. News will get around and people will just, not work for you. You've made your attitude quite clear how much respect you're giving the model maker, so why would they work for you?

Plus, you will have an enemy for life who will do everything in their power to destroy the mod and any future project you work on. Mods based on content folks don't have permission to use is a very sensitive subject, see how quickly the recent Monster Hunter mod vanished, and no one was gunning for that. Now imagine you've got someone actively going for it and you've got someone who doesn't care about Ark, doesn't care about mod users, but very much cares about getting their content taken down.

If you don't like it, only ways around it is contacting someone else who's made a RPOMecha model and getting their permission to port it to Ark and release to a wide audience, or making your own RPOMecha model. The one Riot has is for him and him alone, per the model maker, and if you break that? The model maker will do everything in their power to ruin the mod.
