What do you think of also adding he GS Waaagh targeting mechanic? i think it would be neat to be able to designate an errantry target. I just don't know if it's tied to the GS and how to make it work with another ressource...
I agree that some kind of objective system could help build out an errantry mod. I settled with just letting the existing chivalry system serve as the objective.
I think greyTiger has a more objective based crusader mechanic mod that he is working on, but I have not heard about that in a while. He of course is great with ui stuff.
well apart from the errantry mechanic, the last thing i want for bretonnia is an heraldry mechanic, no clue on how to make that work though lmao, have a good one!
I'm really enjoying it! I do however wish there was some way to get momentum with the extra troops that joins you and keep them for longer. It feels a bit as if you need to Garrison a bit too often, as you need to end your turn where you've built the special building where you Garrison.
Maybe it's possible to make it that each upgrade you make the extra army stays with you further away? Or a Horde building that makes them last one extra turn per upgrade?
I'm not sure if it might be possible that if you use your Errantry Horde unit to win siege battles, you could get a reward to turn the city over to a fitting "Faction of Order"? Rather than just razing them, could (for example) grant the Sylvanian provinces to the Empire? Either gold, more chivalry or an item. Or just turn them into vassal Bretonnian settlements that doesn't want to start wars everywhere while you're busy elsewhere.
Maybe also make it that when your chivalry level grows, your errantry might change from peasants to men at arms on stage 3, then on stage 5, men at arms with shields?
Down the road, could even try make it so the final battle (depending what you pick) has even more enemies to deal with, but the more successful Errantries you've accomplished, the more support you'll have!
The lack of men at arms and bowmen in the follower army is by design. The idea is that you have a crowd of rabble/fodder following you at no cost to you. Men at arms and bowmen presume investment and organization.
Battle scripting is beyond my tool set. Right now I am not focusing on objectives, but I may want to add some way of completing an errantry war. I don't know what the objectives or rewards would look like. Mechanically it would involve the mission system most likely.
