http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_magical_weapons I'd very much like to see some axes and spears and what not as well :)

You could add Dhulfiqar for muslim rulers, it was the sword of Ali ibn Abi Talib http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhu_al-Fiqar

You could do Composite Bows for Indian rulers, as skill with a bow was often one of the most respected traits for a man to have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandiva
They were commonly made with steel during the Medieval Era http://margo.student.utwente.nl/sagi/artikel/steelbow/steelbow.html

is it possible to get the sword to automatically pass to the oldest son? (or to a different heir, if your inheritance laws are different) which could also open up the possibilities of sibling rivalries when brothers/sisters claim to be the more deserving recipient.

Hrunting Beowulfs sword. for anglo-saxon characters http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hrunting
Ulfberht Swords Famous viking swords believed to have magical powers made of crucibal steel (Damascus steel) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulfberht

I second the Ulfberht for norse/norse characters but perhaps Ingelrii: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingelrii Could be used for norse/christians ? Otherwise a few of the magical norse/norse folklore weapons from winden80's link could be distributed amongst the most prominent norse bloodlines. Assuming any of that is possible :P

Caledfwlch. Of course you know it better as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excalibur
Naturally one should have to be Welsh or Breton (seeing as there is no Cornish because Paradox are ♥♥♥♥♥). Christian rulers of course. I also suggest Carnwennan, which you already feature, and Clarent, the Arthurian sword mentioned in English legend (as opposed to Brythonic), there's also Seure, and if you're not adverse to spears there's Rhongomyniad. If you didn't notice they're all Arthurian. :P

I would suggest adding the Sword of Osman for the Kayitag bloodline. The sword was the symbol of the sultan's legitimacy, and the girding of it around the new sultan's waist was the Ottoman equivalent of a coronation ceremony.

Why do all of these weapons do the same thing? And there's an axe for the danes, so why not just rename it 'Ancient weapons'? Surely Juluis Ceasars sword is just a /bit/ better than the irish sword of light. Or maybe it just gives more prestige while weapons like Curtana can give more martial? Balancing without making each sword do the same thing?

Only for Germanic Pagans, need I say more?
(can choose what animal's blood to quench it in, bear, wolf, boar, stag...)

Good job.

You should look at the AGoT Valyrian Steel events. Once you get a Valyrian Steel Sword, you can have it reforged into a myriad of unique options. Though they all have the same effect it is pretty cool! Because they're several weapons with deifferent images for the trait, and unique descriptions. Maces, Spear/Javelins,Bastard/hand and a half Swords, Greatfwords, and shortswords. While it's mostly aestetic it's a very cool touch.

It would be nice to see the swords giving a bonus to combat skill rather than martial, I'd also like to see a bit more variation rather than them all giving the same bonuses.
