Creature Guide
1. Whatcheeria
-Spawns: Freshwater, Swamps, Gen1 Bog Water, Gen1 Bog Springs
-Tameable: Tranq or Passive
Whatcheeria is a large amphibian found on the island, commonly kept as a companion by tribes that live in and around the swamplands. It's tamed early on as a sort of early bodyguard. While not the strongest or most nimble, it can carry items and is capable of throwing its weight around to defend itself and its owner from smaller threats. When attacked, Whatcheeria's slimy body gunks up the attacker, slowing them down.
-Prefers fish meat over normal meat
-Can be told to sit via radial wheel
-When attacked, Whatcheeria returns 1% of the damage back to the attacker, and inflicts a slowing buff on the target. the buff lasts 10 seconds.

2. Diploceraspis
-Spawns: Freshwater, Swamps, Gen1 Bog Water, Gen1 Bog Springs
-Tameable: Passive
A smaller, flatter relative of Diplocaulus. Diploceraspis spends most of its days buried in sediment on the riverbed, eating fish as they pass overhead. For most tribes living in freshwater regions or swamps, they generally are tamed for companionship as they have a somewhat cute appearance. When buried underground however, they tend to slowly collect odd resources, which can benefit survivors in a pinch.
-Can be told to sit via the radial wheel. When sitting down, it'll receive a single random item every 60 seconds. It can find either flint, stone, or clay. It will keep doing this so long as its weight is 150 or less.
-Piscivorous

3. Ichthyostega
-Spawns: Freshwater, Swamps, Gen1 Bog Water, Gen1 Bog Springs
-Tameable: Passive.
One of the smallest amphibians, Ichthyostega is of no threat to a survivor and generally keeps to themselves. When tamed, these amphibians are largely used in the same manner as other shoulder pets. In Ichthyostega's case, the slimy body of it can help regulate the owner's temperature to an extent if carried.
-If carried, gives a buff that slightly increases resistance to heat and cold. No way to scale this buff, however.

4. Pakasuchus
-Spawns: Beaches, Jungles
-Tameable: Passive (pet)
A small, and intelligent crocodilian. Pakasuchus is common throughout much of the island's beach and tropical ecosystems. While mostly solitary, they are known for occasionally grouping up and behaving in similar manners as Hyeanadon. However, Pakasuchus are far less dangerous. For one: they're normally found alone. Thus, they are generally calm enough that they can be carefully approached without ghillie suits. Secondly, due to being found alone: they'll almost always run from a survivor and their tames, regardless of size. When domesticated, the "Cat croc" lives up to its affectionate nickname. They are wonderful to keep around as an early survivor's tame, being pack tames similar to a bulkier Hyaenodon, but lacking the revitalizing nature. They're generally also fast enough to keep up with most mounts, and can help carry items with their backpacks. Interstingly enough however, is the foul smell of these crocodilians. This is due to a musk they produce, which deters certain larger predators. Tamed and mixed into a paste, this can often discourage larger creatures from attacking due to the smell: perfect for a fresh start of a survivor. However, be warned as some more territorial creatures may become more aggressive smelling your irritating smell!
-Pack creature like Hyaenodon, functions largely the same.
-More health and damage than hyena (marginally), but weaker gang bonuses
-can be pet to apply a buff
-can sit
-produces Pakasuchus Musk in its inventory. These can be made into a Musk Broth that reduces the aggression of ALL creatures nearby to exactly 1200 units. However, beware. This will cause certain creatures with smaller aggro radii- such as Dilophosaurus, Direbear, Gigantopithecus, and Chalicotherium- to attack you from a farther distance than normal! They don't like the stink!
-You don't need ghillie to approach a pakasuchus. In-kit testing shows all you need to do is crouch-walk up to a lone individual and eventually, it'll stop running and get used to your presence.

5. Hector's Dolphin
-Spawns: Shallow Water, Ocean
-Tameable: Passive
Small, black-and-white dolphins which were among the smallest cetaceans back home. here on the arks they somehow manage to survive: probably thanks to living in shallow waters or by grouping around larger cetaceans. They're a fairly common sight on the island, frequently seen breaching out of the water playfully. Tamed, they're kept for little more as adorable, friendly companions: the antics of which can be amusing to watch!
-Piscivorous
-in the wild, Hector's Dolphin will jump out of the water if swimming near the surface. If idling near the surface, they will either perform an in-place spin or an in-place jump to entertain themselves if they feel like it.
-When tamed, they will naturally keep up this behavior. You can tell them to quit this aesthetic behavior and behave via the radial wheel, or give them permission to goof off again. Naturally, they are always set to allow playing.
-When idling by the surface and allowed to play, the dolphin will play one of two animations and then wait 20 seconds. After that 20 seconds are up, the Dolphin will decide whether or not it wants to play again. if no, it'll wait another 20 more seconds. if it does, it'll do another random in-place trick.
-They can still jump out of the surface if wandering as well when tamed and allowed to play.

6. Onchopristis
-Spawns: Ocean, Gen1 Ocean, Shallow Water
-Tameable: Passive
A large sawfish-like animal that is commonly seen living on the seafloor, keeping to itself. Despite its intimidating size and formidable rostrum, it isnt a threat to survivors, and can be calmly approached. If tamed, its rostrum is an extremely valuable tool and weapon. It can be used to shear underwater foliage for silk and fiber, as well as organic polymer from certain corpses. Its also an effective underwater lumberjack, cutting coral and sunken wood alike for valuable resources, like rare mushrooms. In offense, the rostrum can be thrashed about quickly, dealing minor penetration damage. Lastly, as a sawfish, it excels at hunting other benthic dwellers, and can extract pearls and black pearls easily from many bottom dwellers. Keep in mind as a benthic animal, Onchopristis needs to rest on the seafloor, and it cant keep itself suspended in the water column for long periods of time.
-In the wild, will attack: Trilobites, Ammonites, Eurypterids, Fiddler Crabs (AC: Aquaria) and Giant Sea Slugs (Prehistoric beasts)
-Harvest multipliers for: Thatch (2.5x), Silica Pearls (2.25x), Black Pearls (2.25x), Fiber (1.5x), Silk (1.5x), Rare Mushrooms (2.5x), Organic Polymer (2.25x)
-Wood and the above resources only weigh 30% in an onchopristis inventory
-Immune to torpidity
-In essence, is an "Underwater flier". Will not follow you in the water column, will follow on the seafloor, but will rise off the seafloor to attack targets. Keep fall damage in mind!
-Allows mounted weaponry
-Immune to electrocution and rage pheromones.
-Left click: Rostrum swipe. 3 quick strikes with its rostrum, dealing slight armor pierce.
-Right click: Forage. Harvests pearls, like anglers.
-Spacebar: Leave seafloor
-X: Land

7. Platyoposaurus
-Spawns: Beach, Gen1 Bog Springs
-Tameable: Passive
A large amphibian, Platyoposaurus is harmless to survivors, but that doesnt mean it isnt valued. At first, coastal tribes used to tame them for companionship, but it was soon learned they have a more viable purpose. Platyoposaurus seem to respond to the healing effects of various marine life, emanating their own healing aura to bolster the other's effectiveness. For those marine tribes which have aquatic healers, Platyoposaurus is a must-have.
-Platyoposaurus responds to Prionosuchus of Prehistoric Beasts and Liopleurodon from Shad's Critter Reworks. If you carry a Platyoposaurus on your shoulder and activate a healing aura on one of the aformentioned creatures, Platy will start emitting its own AoE with the same radius, furthering healing.

8. Dryosaurus
-Spawns: Jungles, Gen1 Bog Forest, Gen1 Bog Plains, Gen2 Eden Easy Forest, Gen2 Eden Hard Forest, Gen2 Eden Easy Jungle, Gen2 Eden Hard Jungle, Gen2 Eden Easy Grassland, Gen2 Eden Grassland, Gen2 Eden Sloped Grassland.
-Tameable: Passive
A smaller ornithopod with a finnicky diet. Dryosaurus are aware, wary, social little critters at the bottom of the food chain. While tamed for companionship, Dryosaurus are usually tamed for their ability to rear children well. Naturally the species takes exceptionally good care of their offspring; and when tamed, this spreads to offspring in their tribe- or even allied tribes- that aren't even the same species. The species is capable of keeping offspring fed- but not imprinting upon them- though they still provide specific benefits. Herbivores reared under the watchful eye of a Dryosaurus seem to get a little extra tlc from them, and when reaching adulthood, seem to be able to manage their stamina better. To those that can support their finnicky diet, Dryosaurus is an extremely valuable tame.
-Can be told to sit via the option wheel. When sitting, they give off an AoE to all same-tribe and allied-tribe babies in a short radius near them, refilling their food by +5 per sec. It does not imprint them.
-Dryosaurus shares the same diet as procoptodon, making it difficult to keep fed.
-Dryosaurus does not use 50% less food when sitting. Rather, it uses 50% MORE food.
-Herbivorous babies that hit adulthood while under the care of Dryosaurus receive a permanent buff that halves their stamina usage and consumption from any source. Soul Traps (provided you have the correct ini enabled) and Server Restarts keep the buff; however uploading/downloading or cryopods will permanently remove said buff.
