Version 1.30 - Winds from the East
Hello, travelers. With the introduction of Inazuma (hope you're enjoying that), we're taking the opportunity to expand this game even further with our 6th element: Anemo.

In the same way that Cryo provided a more versatile take on offense, Anemo does a similar thing with defense, creating a playstyle that focuses on both support and synergistic gameplay. The whole of Anemo characters will be heavily reliant on their unique elemental reaction -- Swirl -- so much so that Anemo characters gain extra points whenever they cause a Swirl to occur (limit once per round). Anemo characters will exhibit many team based synergies like Hydro while providing wider coverage and manipulation like Electro, but much of their utility and damage is very heavily reliant on triggering swirls.

Additionally, this patch finally introduces the Traveler, arguably one of the most ambitious characters in the roster. Play as either Aether or Lumine (they are identical) and switch your element mid-round to adapt to your opponent's strategies or create some unique tactics all your own.

4 new characters have joined the roster:
  • Sucrose
  • Sayu
  • Jean
  • Aether / Lumine

System Changes
  • Sanctum Guardian health reduced to 2 from 3.
This seemingly small change carries some rather big weight for backline assassination strategies, and may open up some dangerous ground for a majority of Electro characters. Better keep your Sanctum safe or you might start getting robbed real quick.

Character Changes
Albedo
  • Abiogensis: Solar Isotoma now clarifies that performing a vision action via a Transient Blossom is actually performed by Albedo instead (rules wonkiness doing its thing here).
  • Opening of Phanerozoic speed increased to Instant from Standard.
  • Opening of Phanerozoic now clarifies that you can move tokens that normally wouldn't be movable.
  • Tide of Hadean speed decreased to Standard from Instant.
  • Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide now summons the Transient Blossom in Albedo's space, instead of ANY space. Wording also slightly modified for clarity.

Amber
  • "It's Baron Bunny!" now allows you to move an existing Baron Bunny by 1 space.

Barbara
  • Star of Tomorrow first option now draws the searched skill instead of placing it on top of your deck.

Bennett
  • Impasse Conquerer "2-" gambit effect reinstates that the changed target must be controlled by the same player. (Stop hitting yourself, literally)

Diluc
  • Fire and Steel trigger wording is now "When Diluc performs an attack through a Pyro skill or burst..." This is functionally the same, but should improve clarity.
  • Searing Onslaught now draws 1 skill.
  • Dawn now draws 1 skill.
  • Dawn refresh trigger is now defeating 2 enemies, instead of 2 characters, in one turn. It still triggers when Diluc is defeated.
Diluc's aspirations for a skill combo blowout are far bigger than his actual resources, namely cards. Adding skill draw onto his primary combo tools should make it a little easier for him to have those super ambitious combo turns and make him feel much more like an Elite character.

Fischl
  • Wings of Nightmare wording adjusted for clarity.

Hu Tao
  • Spirit Soother refresh condition clarifies that it triggers if Hu Tao is defeated.

Kaeya
  • Glacial Waltz now triggers after Kaeya resolves an action, instead of after he performs a basic action or skill (effectively the same).

Keqing
  • Starward Sword refresh trigger no longer grants 1 energy for defeating a Genesis Gem or Sanctum Guardian.
This is a slightly preemptive nerf given the recent change to Sanctum Guardian. I'll keep an eye on this interaction, but Keqing is already quite good at the backline dive.

Lisa
  • Violet Arc slow action now gives Lisa 2 energy.

Mona
  • Health reduced to 5 from 6.
  • Prophecy of Oblivion reworked: "Mona may perform a move to ANY space. Then, place an Omen of Oblivion on any target enemy character at that space and draw 1 skill."
  • Prophecy of Submersion now deals 1 Hydro damage on the target, instead of inflicting Hydro. It should be noted that this is NOT an attack.
  • Omen of Oblivion now triggers when the attached character deals damage to a character or token, instead of defeating a character or token.
  • Stellaris Phantasm energy cost reduced to 3 from 4.
  • Stellaris Phantasm refresh condition is now "When you place a marker on an enemy" instead of "when you draw your 2nd skill of the turn". Technically, this is a nerf, but it shouldn't change too much.
  • Restless Revolution (talent) burst refresh can now be used at any time.
Mona is a character I've had a difficult time arranging because while her utility seems good on the surface, it's hard to justify her overall lack of power as an Elite. I'm pushing to increase the overall pressure of her unique omen-driven strategy, and redesigning parts of her kit to give her a slightly more active playstyle.

Ningguang
  • Trove of Marvelous Treasures (ability) now also grants a Jade Star when Ningguang performs a Vision action.
  • Jade Screen bonus effect cost reduced to 3 Jade Stars from 4.
  • Piercing Fragments bonus effect cost reduced to 3/1 Jade Stars from 4/2.
  • Starshatter (burst) check for Jade Star discard now checks if the token is allied. This was always intended, but is ultimately a nerf.
  • Invincible be the Jade Screen (talent) ranged attack cost reduced to 2 Jade Stars from 3.

Noelle
  • Nice and Clean now grants 1 point if it puts down a Genesis Gem (similar to a Vision action).

Qiqi
  • Rite of Resurrection now awards -1 point when the first allied character is defeated each turn, not just Qiqi.
  • Rite of Resurrection now properly revives Sanctum Guardians on your bench (oops).
  • Ascendant Praise (talent) minor wording fixes.
I felt expanding on Rite of Resurrection would help reinforce her Elite power level and improve the supportive aspect of Qiqi's "servant of death" design. The Sanctum Guardians fix was really just me making a mistake and now fixing it (sorry).

Razor
  • Fixed a typo on Lightning Fang.

Rosaria
  • Rites of Termination now performs 2 attacks - one melee and one ranged, both cryo - instead of performing a cryo attack on 2 different targets in her space.

Xiangling
  • Oil Meets Fire now grants its bonus if the target has received a Pyro-based elemental reaction earlier in the turn.
  • Crispy Outside, Tender Inside now uses the same wording as Oil Meets Fire to keep things consistant.
  • Crossfire speed changed to Instant from Standard.
  • Slight wording change on Pyronado to indicate that it causes Xiangling to attack immediately afterward.
  • "Beware, it's super hot!" (talent) now also deals 1 non-lethal damage to the target.
Xiangling's ability can be pretty strong, but it's not so powerful that it needs to also punish you for triggering elemental reactions. The main idea is to empower Xiangling against targets that either started the turn vulnerable, or who were made so through mid-turn application.

Xingqiu
  • Guhua Style now triggers when Xingqiu performs an attack while in a space with an allied character, instead of when he defeats an enemy. This ability is now limited to once per turn.
  • Evilsoother now discards a marker from your ally instead of revealing your opponent's hand.
  • Guhua Style: Raincutter's Inactive side gained "At the end of your turn, if Xingqiu has learned 2 talents, refresh this burst and Xingqiu gains 1 energy".
  • Rainbow Upon the Azure Sky (talent) now limited to once per turn.
While nothing was inherantly wrong with Guhua Style, I think it's execution is both out of element (Felt more like Electro than Hydro) and out of character (Xingqiu is a practictioner of chivalry, not assassination). This version of Guhua Style feels a little more accurate to what Xingqiu is all about, both as a Hydro supporter and as a person.

Minor fixes
  • Every skill now has a counter in the bottom right corner. This indicates how many copies of that card exist in your collective deck, hand, and trash.

Needless to say, that's a whole lot of changes, big and small. I'll definitely be approaching the feedback form with a greater grain of salt for the next week or so, but don't let that discourage you from submitting feedback. I really do read every submission, and several of the game's quality of life improvements have that feedback to thank.

Finally, thank everyone for giving the game a try. 460+ downloads is awesome, I can only hope you guys are enjoying the game. Thanks again, and stay safe travelers.
