Crusader Kings III

Petty Inheritable Traits

Current Ideas and Suggestions
My Current plans for new traits are:
  • Dyslexia -1 Diplomacy -2 Learning
  • Opposite of Dyslexia (Hyperlexia?) +1 Diplomacy +2 Learning
  • Dyscalculia -2 stewardship -1 learning
  • Opposite of Dyscalculia (Hypercalculia?) +2 Stewardship +1 Learning
  • Permanent Scowl -5 general opinion +10 natural dread
  • Friendly Face +5 general opinion -10 natural dread

Permanent scowl and friendly face will be mutually exclusive neutral traits, amount of dread for both of them isn't finalized.

As for the suggestions for different names for the existing traits, I'm planning on keeping hawk-eyed and keen-eared. Hardy lunged and surefooted are going to be changed.

My philosophy with the trait names is that if a trait revolves around a specific body part it should reference or imply that specific part in the name.

My plan for "surefooted" is to make it "light-footed" to better imply agility.

"Hardy lunged" I honestly put healthy into a thesaurus to get it so I'm not attached to that name. I was thinking maybe "powerful lungs" or "iron lunged"

Feel free to put suggestions for traits, balancing, and names in this thread.

kleptomaniac - 2 diplomacy + 2 stewardship - 8 general opinion
opposite: super spreader (lol) - 3 stewardship (some risk to lose the dynasty artifact as it got forgotten somewhere)

Maybe something with the lifespan like:
long lived : +10 lifespan , +0.25 health
Short lived : -10 lifespan , -0.25 health

Iron body: +2 prowess and no lose of prowess with age

Feel free to change the names. I'm not very good with this ^^ .

is there any way to increase the probability of having twins? If so, that would make for an interesting trait.

What about pain tolerance?

Something like "hypersensitive" and "Masochist" or something similar to Congenital insensitivity to pain.

Hypersensitive would have a lot of drawbacks whereas Masochist and CIP would have benefits (like prowess, intrigue, terror, and martial) as well as flaws ie likelier to die in battle/ more susceptible to plots.

+10 longevity might be too OP if stacked with Health lifestyle and Octogenarians from genetic Dynastic Legacy.

That might be easy if you can change twins to be a congenital trait, as it should anyway.

One thing that might be cool would be to do specific mental illnesses such as Bipolar, Schizophrenia, tourettes or something like that. At the same time you could have sane, stoic, joyful or something to counter those

Maybe something that expands on existing traits. For instance, berserker can now be an inheritable trait "You're family's blood boils much quicker than others, filling you with strength unmatched". This could be a new variant of berserker like how lunatic has 2 variants of 'lunatic_01' and 'lunatic_genetic' IDs. I hope we could do something with vikings and expand on the "inner raider" within us all. We could bring back the good ol' sea king/queen trait that's inheritable (or a separate trait that's inheritable due to having parent(s) with that trait). Something that gives 15% extra plunder and/or raid speed. "Your lineage comes from a long line of vikings and revears. You seem to inherently know where to look for the best plunder."

I'm thinking some three-leveled neuroticism traits:

BAD:

Level 1 - Nervous: +10% Stress Gain
Level 2 - Anxious: +20% Stress Gain
Level 3 - Neurotic: +30% Stress Gain

GOOD:

Level 1 - Hardy: -10% Stress Gain
Level 2 - Tough: -20% Stress Gain
Level 3 - Careless: -30% Stress Gain

Naturally smelling good/bad. Diplomacy/attraction.

Genetic personality inclinations. Characters who are born with Wrathful Blood will be born wrathful, but can still be made to have a different trait through the vanilla childhood personality traits (so it increases the odds of them being wrathful as adults, but doesn't guarantee it). It might be better as a separate mod tho.

Focused / unfocused. Focused characters have better stewardship but their tendency to get stuck into their work for hours on end is bad for their health and muscle growth. Unfocused characters are the opposite.

Upbeat. Reverse of Melancholy.

Sense of smell decreases the odds of murder schemes succeeding and increases intrigue a little but is bad for diplomacy, as characters struggle not to react when something smells bad or to avoid being pulled in by things that smell good. Triggered opinion towards those who smell good/bad.

Flexible / inflexible / solid frame / weak frame.
Flexible opposites: inflexible and solid frame.
Solid frame opposites: flexible and weak frame.
Both solid frame and flexible increase health and prowess, but flexible is more focused on health while solid frame is more focused on prowess.
