Blocking Workshop viewing? Horrible Decision
Before I buy any game I'll check to see the quality and interest in their workshop items.

IMO the company here is cutting off a MAJOR incentive to buy the game, as individuals don't know what they are truly getting, the expansion capabilities, etc.

I've discovered games this way, by clicking on workshop and seeing what the top games with workshops are. It ruins visibility for sure.

Especially when many of the reviews are based around the comments of how good the workshop items are!

Not going to buy a game just to see what is in the workshop before I decide if I'm going to keep the game....

I wanted to check what the workshop has to offer before buying it so.... yeah, I will just send the game to the wishlist and move forward

I agree with @Suii. How do I know this game is worth it for workshop content when I can't search for things?

i got the game, but it sure is a strange decision to put workshop in-game.

This is an awful decision, workshop should be public. I'm not sure what they think they're protecting by gating custom content behind the game itself. :antipiracy:

Agreeing with the general consensus here. I've been grabbing my workshop ids and putting together the links by hand to share my creations with other people and its a major ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hassle. Plus due to the "feature" of anonymity in game, its really hard to find your favourite authors and its a crapshoot whether you find a good original design or just some crappy copy with bad ideas.

Same thing. I was just contemplating purchasing this and then the workshop can't be viewed? Alright, weird decision, but I can't really justify dropping 22$ on a game that touts community content as a pillar that doesn't let me SEE that content. I'll skip this one for now!

I just started playing the game and love it already sunk 6h in one sitting but i do agree that this workshop decision is just plain old stupid.
I doubt this could be changed however as the game was build with the idea of having a mod manager in game with it's own section and menus. Sad really

Yeah man, same thought here. I'm ready to drop money on this because it looks really good but no demo + no visible workshop is throwing off warning bells in my head.

Agree with this 100%, it should use the workshop they "typical" way. FWIW, I did buy the game and the in-game workshop stuff does work for me ok, so far. However I almost didn't buy because of this and wish it took advantage of all the features mentioned in this thread that make the typical workshop experience great.

same

I bet the only reason they keep this out of steam is the massive amount of IP infringement in their workshop.
DancesWithSheep Aug 14, 2020 @ 4:52pm
Well, like everyone else I came here to look at the workshop items but I can’t see the mods. Oh well, devs won’t see my money either then.

Agreed. No browsing is bad.
