Thank you very much!
Also, with this update, the mod seems to require WoS to work. Is this intention? Will you post a version that does not need that (as the mod used to). Sorry to ask so many questions, I just want to know if I'll need to buy the expansion.
I am quite busy currently but I will try do fix the months - seasons issue and make it usable without any dlc as soon as possible!
Thank you very much! I have no idea how to mod for Rome 2, so I can only speculate as to how much effort it is, but it's much appreciated that you're actively maintaining the mod so well. It's really above and beyond the call of duty!
Modifying the turns per year is very very basic. The thing is I am just heavily focusing on other projects so I almost don't have any time left here. That's why it's taking so long. Sorry.
Does it work now?
Yes and no. I did some tests, here are the results:
- If you start a new "Augustus" campaign, it does not work--there are four turns a year, and it repeats the season twice (so "Summer Summer" instead of "Summer March" for example).
- If you start a new "Grand Campaign" campaign, it seems to work!
- When I loaded up my old Augustus save game, surprisingly, it seem to work too (it even correct the date, replacing October with December).
So it mostly seems to work--I'm not sure why a new campaign wouldn't work but loading an old one would. I use no other mods, so it's not a compatibility issue. Hopefully this will help you as you tweak it as necessary.
First of all, thanks for doing the tests! Great to hear that it works for the Grand Campaign.
It seems that you were probably using another TPY mod for your old Augustus save. (It only matters which one you were using when starting the campaign. Activating another TPY mod or deactivating the actual one in the middle of a campaign won't change anything except the season names)
The thing is this mod never had the intention to also change the turns per year of the Augustus campaign. But if you want the mod to also affect the other campaigns, I could do that.
EDIT: Although it could actually be true that I also changed it for the Augustus campaign at some point in the previous versions, can't remember though.
Honestly it's possible--I don't know how the mod's effects persist in games (I haven't tested my existing saves with the mod removed, since i assumed it would lead to a crash). As I said I'm only using one mod (the once nice thing about Steam workshop is that it's easy to keep track of this sort of thing). It is strange that it would work in the GC (one turn per year I understand) but not IA (four turns per year) given that it originally did--in any case, the mod's update did translate to an appreciable effect for an existing save.
I'll check again tomorrow and see if anything different happens. And I'm happy to help anyway I can!
The mod right now only affects the GC as I originally intended. Apparently I forgot that I did add support for the IA campaign at some point in the previous versions. So I did not include the changes for the IA campaign again, when fixing the latest issues. I guess I will now make every campaign 12 turns per year, instead of only the GC and then update it.
