Real-world Discussion
Some points regarding the representation of Starstreak in this mod relative to the actual system:


Operation

In reality, the hittiles do not immediately separate from the missile bus and begin seeking, nor do they have their own flight motors. As far as I can tell, the hittiles are actually accelerated up to cruise speed while attached to the missile bus over a distance of about 400m and detach at this point to cruise un-propelled along the beam designated by the operator. Limitations in the Arma 3 engine meant I could not manage to get the hittiles to launch from a main projectile (as submunitions) and still retain their laser-beam-riding abilities, so I was unfortunately not able to represent this fully in the mod.

I may at some point work on spawning a launch motor and empty missile bus from the front to give at least the general effect of this mechanic.




Terminology

The use of LTA (Launch Tube Assembly) and CLU (Command Launch Unit) are adopted from the FGM-148 Javelin as an analogue. These may not be the actual terms used to refer to the corresponding components by Thales, the British Army or any other actual organisation.

Thales Group do refer to the sub-munitions as 'hittiles' in some documentation and I believe 'missile bus' is also the correct term used to describe the carrier onto which the hittiles are mounted.




Liveries

While the Blue and Olive colours are close matches for variants seen in the real world, the sand and grey schemes are fictional liveries added for the sake of variety and flexibility when used with other Arma 3 assets.

Future texturing improvements may better reflect real-world liveries, for example by removing the white stripe and identification markings on Olive variants.
