A question on demand?
Hi folks,

I'm wondering how the various building capacity changes interact with demand. I've got a situation where I've got loads of offices, factories and shops which are only partly filled and are asking for more employees, but no demand whatsoever for residential and people just won't move in. There is still constant demand for commercial though, so I zone a bit more and it builds and remains half empty.

I'd have guessed that residential vs commercial/industrial demand is more or less the balance between supply of workers vs supply of jobs, but obviously I've gone wrong somewhere. Is there some amount of commerce/industrial "productivity" that dictates demand? Is there a reasonable ratio of this "productivity per cim" that I should look to tailor in the config for example?

I am having this same issue. However, I am currently testing for which type of citizen is actually needed. For now it is high educated cims. I am working on testing further to see if it does change, but I too am noticing that the res demand isn't high as a result of the offices and retail demand for employees
