Breeding Shinies?
Is there any way by chance to breed/clone shinies? I would love to have a line of skeletal rock drakes as I just acquired one, but sadly I cannot clone the effect with the S+ cloner, and I would assume that breeding it would also not work outright.

Perhaps a server setting?

you can breed them for colours and stats, but yeah, cant get more of the effects. kind of good, as I feel that would eliminate the "specialness" of them if you could make a heap.

The thing is that Shiny doesnt add new special dinos, only adds buffs to existing ones - and in Ark it's not possible to clone or inherit buffs.

While true, I could imagine a custom structure from the mod that adds in said functionality.

There already is a Shiny variant/color gun. You can use Debuff gun from Dino storage to apply any buffs you wish. Shinies are cool because they are rare. If everything is shiny, then nothing really is.

so admin cheats to get copies instead of having a legitimate way to grind and find what I want?

Breeding out mass amounts of shinies wouldnt really be grinding tbh, the whole point of the shinies is their scarcity, if theres too many it stagnates as it doesnt feel special

The best that you can do is get lucky with a Shiny spawn with something you want and use a prod to get the essence which you can apply (the effect) to your desired dino. I just got shinobi for my Maewing.

This is essentially the only way to "farm" for better dinos with shiny buffs and imprinting.
