Shiny! Dinos
Shinies no longer spawning near me
When shinies used to spawn it would always be dinos near me that got picked to become shiny, but after changing a few settings in the INI now only shinies from very far away will spawn shiny.

Does anyone know how I can fix this, so it goes back to only dinos near me becoming shiny? I tried using the original settings, but that doesn't change anything :(

Are you in single player? I'm guessing that you had hibernation enabled, but you have since disabled it. With hibernation enabled, the only dinos that Shiny can choose are the ones that are immediately around you. However, that means that you will never get any Shinies that are not immediately around you-- so no dinos of any type that do not spawn within render of you-- and also any Enraged will pop up right next to you, which you will probably find a bit tiresome. Shiny works best with hibernation disabled and we recommend that you have it that way for single player games. However, if you decide that you absolutely must turn it back on, it will break your game unless you're careful. If you're absolutely certain you want to play with hibernation enabled, you'll need to follow these steps:
1). BACK UP YOUR GAME. This way you'll be able to restore it in case something goes wrong.
2) Add -nodinos to your launch options.
3) Load into your game and destroy all wild dinos (cheat destroywilddinos), and give the game a moment to complete the command.
4) save your world and exit.
Now you should be able to remove -preventhibernation from your launch options without fear of breaking your game-- but seriously, I wouldn't recommend running with Shiny and hibernation on.

Thank you so much! I did originally have -preventhibernation on (I can't remember the reason, but someone told me to put it on) and then it somehow got disabled, so I turned it back on again. Thankfully my save was ok, but I will try doing what you recommended! ^^

I have enraged shinies disabled, because I was having a hard time with them at one point lol
Is there a way to know that they are shiny or just have to tame/kill them to find out?
How does one know they are dealing with shiny, does it sparkle upon being seen or what?
