I get it, it's just that we play with super jacked settings and heavily modded so any Shiny that spawns is the max-150 lvls higher already. They're pretty OP as it is so breeding is obsolete compared to the Shiny's :/
Everyone being special is ok if they put in the work. Consider my thought below. There is a way to make it much harder even if you make it 5x the essence needed instead of 3 like I suggest.
My server will second wanting to apply them to a different dino as well. I actually came here to ask the same question as I am about to pull the mod from my cluster after we discussed it and other mods.
After discussing it, no one is hunting shinies anymore. They look at the tracker, see that they would not use the class that is the good buff and move on. In the last two weeks, I have noticed me doing it too.
I open shines once every few days or what brought up the discussion this week is I had not opened it till last night in over a week instead of being excited to see what’s out there.
I use Rock Elementals as pets. I saw one last night and got excited till I saw he was a normal variant and I did not bother. I then saw a Dino that had a great effect but I don’t use the class so I did not bother.
A suggestion to make the mod much better while still making it hard to get the right one for you. It would make everyone consistently check the mod to look for what you want.
Make it a server switch in the .ini as a flat out option or if you want to still keep the rate feel but let people enjoy the excitement of the mod.
Make it where you have to have 3x or 5x the dust of that effect for it to apply to a random.
Example:
I want a flame otter. Why? Who knows but let’s go with it.
I would have to hunt for 3 different flame essences, does not matter what class just have three. That would mean, I would have to have hunted 9 enraged to be able to charge my prod 3 times and successfully hunted down the dinos, without someone else taking them as well. Adds some competition to the mod.
So now I have 3 x fire essences and I can make my flame otter. Without having to wait on pure RNG of spawns. If I put in the work. I can buff my Dino in f my choice.
To me 9 enraged kills, having to kill the fire mob in 60 seconds and gathering 3 is a lot of leg work and that would make the mod worth using again.
Having to have 3 means people always checking for shinies and wanting to hunt them down as if it’s a flame stegosaurus, it’s still worth hunting so you can use the essence plus 2 more to make your X-Emelental flame, etc.
Currently there is no reason to hunt anything but a perfect or enraged Dino. Makes the mod not a good use for server resources.
Either way, loved the mod, you did a great job. It has just gotten old waiting to actually see something you would use.
Being able to pick where you apply the effect means you set out to make your chosen pet Dino more powerful. Not forcing you to a class you would not venture to use.
Hope it helps. I know personally, it would be amazing to be able to try different effects on my Elemental.
Is there a video or something showing how raw essence should be used? im a bit confused about it. I have some from killing shinys but i don't know what to do with them.
I finally get it now. The Prod part was throwing me off because im a dummy
