I would recommend more of the "cultural" German music of the period 1444-1821. The German composers from Austria to Prussia are manifold and excellent.

Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Händel a typical for the Early Modern Period of the german speaking countries.

Offenbach, Strauss (junior) and most of all Wagner as well as most of the late German/Prussian military marches (e.g. Preußens Gloria (1871)) are representatives for the first German Union and the following Kaiser Reich. (Maybe Pride of Nations II? :P )

PS: You maybe should replace the song "Das Lied der Deutschen" with the German anthem. The first strophe was abused by the Third Reich... :/ (Yeah, it's not forbidden, but someone could misunderstand it...)

I can see what you mean, this mod was more leaning towards marching music since this game is very much based on war, but I agree it needs more soothing theme music. I was hesitant to include many songs with a singer, but often times some of it comes as an non negotiable bundle.

Well, this mod is aimed at providing a theme based on the German Empire, a form of Government which I see no dishonorable faults in. The Nazis may have abused it, but if one wants to see only the connotative, unoriginal meaning to the song, then that's their problem. Furthermore, it should be noted the line I'm drawing for I am not including songs developed under the influence of Nazi Germany.

Well, is it possible to play a song only in restricted epoch (e.g. 1444-1600)?
It would add much to the atmosphere if you can really play the matching music of an era.
(The music of the renaissance sounds much like the "typical medivial songs".)
