I downloaded the reapers and it wouldn't let me add any policies, then my game crashed.

On a more balanced comment than "It broke", it works fine if you don't have any mod that dramatically changes the LUA on a game changing scale. If you have a mod like that, which SeVeN most likely does, you sacrifice the ability to use other mods. The Reapers don't do anything like that, it's compatible with almost everything.

It was good just like all of the other Mass Effect Civs I think this one was probably one of the better ones considering the fact that the other civs actually had to team up against me to win, you know like how you have to get all of the other races to work together to defeat them in the game.

I built up an army of Husks' for the sole purpose of scouting the world I loaded up, when I met all the other civs I watched them bicker and war with each other. Now I'm just biding my time, waiting for the cycle to begin anew, dont want it to be too boring though, so I have convinced some races to go to war with each other.

Also, IRONY ALERT! The Protheans are my best friends in my game... It's a bit akward.

This is a very fun mod I just wish that you could do multiplayer mods.

So, uh, i decided to play me as reapers and the collectors versus as many ME civs as I could load into one game. Worked perfectly. Except, when I tried to go all world-domination-y my collector allies kept brokering peace with the people I was conquering.

So, if you want to rule the world, there's no such thing as a good ally. :P

Day 1: Cathrine, Queen of Russia (Warlord difficulty), recieved a vision whilst sleeping of an impending fleet coming to destroy all life. It was then she realized that she was the only one capable of defeating this looming threat, and began her centuries long plan to prepare for them in order to stand a chance

Day 13: Catherine, using geographical clues, discovered that she was on Africa. She decided then that Africa would be her staging point; she would build up the continent to it's greatest power, dig in her heels, and hold out against everything the Reapers threw at her until she was able to counter attack

Day 43: After capturing half of Africa, along with the help of Arabia (who she would later betray in order to capture ALL of Africa as Arabia was clearly not capable of fighting the Reapers. Necessary sacrifice), the two were just about to wipe out the Huns and take control when suddenly, some idiot decided to create the United Nations and reveal Catherine to Harbinger. Due to self-imposed game rules, Catherine declared war on the monster from her visions right away and, abandoning her plan to take over all of Africa, decided to defend the half of the continent she managed to save.

Day 89: It has been almost 40 days since war was declared, and Catherine has begun to question whether the Reapers are intending on launching an invasion on her. She has decided that it would be safe to conquor a few City States in order to add to her power, and is now considering resuming her plans to take over Africa- wait, what's that to the south?

Day 95: The Reapers invaded, and took over all of South Africa in just 6 turns. In an act of desperation, Catherine ran all her forces north and burned every city she had in place between her and the Reaper invasion. The Reapers were able to capture most of them anyway, and she made her final stand in the former City State now Russian Colony Manila. It came close two different times, but Catherine was able to hold against stealth bombers, X-Com, destroyers, and rocket artillery using mere Modern Era soldiers. At least until

Day 112: Miracioulsy, her neighbor country Arabia's city of Damascas expanded its boundries and created a wall between her and the invading army. The Reapers, apperently deciding they didn't want a war with two countries, called off their attack and are now holding onto South Africa. Catherine, demoralized after lossing in 6 turns what took 40 to take, is considering deleting the game and starting over. But realizes, that's what they wanted her to do, and held out hope that she could recover what was lost and take the fight back!

Day 164: After months of building up her power, and defending against sea attacks against her capital while sending occasional invasion forces into South Africa (all ending in crippling failure), Catherine has finally discovered Nuclear Missiles. It had been her intention to have these before meeting the Reapers at all, but better late than never. It was time to fight back!

Day 166: Catherine discovered, with mixed emotions, that Nuclear Missiles have the capacity to outright destroy cities. After realizing that she was responsible for the deaths of millions, the people she was fighting to save, Catherine determined that Nuclear Missiles were only to be used in depesperate circumstances when she simply couldn't afford to capture a Reaper city. She was better than that.

Day 200: All of South Africa has been destroyed. The entire world hates Catherine for blowing up several cities, and south Arabian territories, with her liberal use of nuclear weapons. But Catherine makes no apologies; she knew from the beginning that sacrifices would have to be made if she was to save the world. If liberating South Africa from the Reapers meant blowing it to nuclear Hell, than so be it! The only city she didn't destroy was the former Hun capital, since capitals can't be blown up. She set her sights on that next. The Reapers would die, even if half the continent died with them!

Day 223: She's done it. The Reapers have been successfully pushed off of South Africa. Catherine recently acquired Sattelites, and can see that the only other territories the Reapers have is their capital city and two colonies, both of which could be destroyed using Nuclear Missiles, meaning the only threat remaining is their capital, Dark Space. But wait, I skipped the Battle of Attila's Court. After spending twenty turns building up a nuclear stockpile and X-Com soldiers, Catherine flew all of them to the nearest not-blown up city that was overlooked during the 6-Day Invasion and positioned her troops. First, she sent in a single X-Com unit to learn the location of the most Reaper troops, and then fired a Nuclear Missile; killing her soldier but taking the majority of Reaper troops with him. Then she fired a missile at the city before sending three units to surround it, only to discover that the Reapers had reserves. Not relenting, Catherine sent another missile, killing her soldiers and the Reaper army. This happened about two times; seriously, where were these guys getting their troops, it was like they had an infinite army hiding! Finally, with only a single missile remaining and two units, she fired on the city one last time before flying the troops in, taking the city the next turn. South Africa was saved! Catherine had proven, to herself and to the world, that the Reapers could bleed (at least on Warlord difficulty)! It was a battle hard fought and many sacrifices were made, dozens of soldiers and thousands of innocents caught in the crossfire, the UN looking at her actions with horror and contempt, isolating herself from every ally she'd made thus far, reducing half a continent to fallout and decay; decisions that would haunt Catherine in her dreams every night for the rest of her life; but, if the cost of saving humanity was her soul, then that would be the price she paid! Now was not the time for regret! She had plans to make and weapons to build! It was time to take the fight back to the Reapers! For Humanity!

That's as far as I've gotten for now. I'm honestly surprised I was able to make it, after the massive beat-down I got when first contact happened despite preparing for exactly that from the beginning of the game and, for the first time in any Civilization game, I had to run for my life. But it turns out being determined and never giving up is actually an effective strategy for getting through hardship and not just cheezy video game dialog. Being put in a desperate position and having to make massive sacrifices in order to survive, rather than being part of the story, just happened as I played without any scripting; your putting in an overpowered enemy actually put life back into Civilization for me, as I have to desperately work just to survive let alone make any progress. Gold star!
My only complaint is that I'm pretty much the only one who ever fights the Reapers. Everyone else denounces them but they never actually do anything, and I'm pretty much the only one in the Reaper's crosshairs since they focused everything on me despite their being weaker targets right next to it that weren't at all prepared for a massive invastion. Still, that could make sense in the context of how Reapers operate. Would have been nice if I could have gotten some backup, though that might have weakened the whole survival through sacrifice theme that accidently formed brilliantly

Loved reading that story! Was great to hear you enjoyed it. It also shows that the Reapers can be taken by just one person, despite how powerful they are.

Well, it ended up turning out that this was just a Phyrric Victory. I used all my manpower to take South Africa and the entire world hated me for using tons of nukes, so ten turns later just before I was about to undertake a secret mission to blow up the Reaper colonies, every single civilization declared war on me. Atilla took back his capital (hope you enjoy that burned husk you call South Africa!), the English, Koreans, and Byzantines sent out skirmeshes that kept me from building up my navy and ruining my secret plan by destroying the nuclear submarines carrying the missiles, the Arabians kept nuking Minilla and other border cities (between the Reapers and the Arabians, that Manilla got nuked about 6 times), and some Asian guys took the northern portion of my empire. At that point, I decided "you jerkwads! The ONLY reason the Reapers haven 't killed all of you off is because they've been so focused on killing ME off! You know what, screw all of you; you can save yourselves! I'm out!"
So, in the end, it wasn't the Reapers all of humanity united against; it was me...and I forgot why I wanted to save the world in the first place. In the end, I had to unwind by starting a game playing as the Reapers and putting in all the civs that betrayed me; very stress relieving.

Stil, I 'could' have beaten them if the rest of the world didn't get in the way; I'm definiately going to be playing this gain. Maybe have fewer civs, or actually give myself allies that won't get all ticked off when I do some little thing like glass half a continent. A+ on game design! Been awhile since a game had me feeling so vengeful without putting in a single cutscene!
Also, I mentioned this on a few other pages, but is there a way to make this co-op? I have some friends and we love teaming up to take on impossible challenges; this seems like it would be a prime candidate for our next challenge if we could make it multiplayer
