I play single-player a bunch, and every few times I log on, all of my compost bins and mini-forges are gone, and there is an Item Cache bag where they were, holding their contents. I thought it might have something to do with how close my dinos were, so I parked them further away. Still, I logged on, and the bins and forges were gone.
