Tools break instantly?

Anytime I try to make anything its instantly broken, which is super frustrating. No idea what could be causing this.

Durability is determined by skill level. Try using a Balllpeen Hammer instead of a stnadard hammer and you will get bonus durability, not much, but it helps.
