Feature request - "place on top of walls"
Is it possible for for you to add an option or separate mod that allows us to place windows "on top" of existing walls, similar to: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1503448404&searchtext=vents

Actually, when I started this mod that was my goal. There's no denying it would look better! But i realized there's a caveat: if that was the case, destroying the window would not open a passage on the wall like the commom sense dictates! As I wanted them to have as many disavantages as benefits, becoming a weak spot on a base's defense was an essencial trait to emulate. And that trait totally sets them apart from vents and AC! That's why I ended up prefering the normal placing rule.

Understandable, but it would still be a nice option for those of us who would rather have it differently :)
For example, some use the in-wall coolers and vents to prevent them from destroying smoothed walls. Personally, I have just had too many issues with low hp weak points like these, especially when you start modding the game heavily.

@DragonKing: I apreciate the suggestion. But maybe this mod is not for you. It's meant to give you weak points! How else would you make sacrifices in order to defend your base? If you're not rethinking your base design from the ground up with this new variable in mind, then I failed!! C'mon!

@YoloSwagger: one could follow the lead from the vents and coolers from Replace Stuff. Feel free if you want too, all my code is open source. But I'm not really interested in cosmetic mods. Not for free, anyway.

Well, it is your mod, I am just making a request since I think it would be a nice addition to an otherwise perfectly fine mod already :)

At least so far, in early game, you practically need to make your base like swiss cheese in order to get enough light indoors, and fairly small rooms as well, so at that point at least, you cant avoid having weak points all over the place. Interestingly though, the raiders seem to prefer taking down the doors, and completely ignore the windows, probably because they want to go for something more valuable like food stockpiles etc.

Also, isn't the purpose of the mod actually to provide an alternate source of light?

Would it be possible for you to make vents that can be shot through when opened?
I Think that added those as well would be a fair compromise.

I think this is a great mod, but the rustic windows are a bit thin compared to the normal walls which makes them look sort of weird. Also they show the ground below them, so I wonder if it's too much to ask if they might be made a little fatter?

@taisamdee That is mainly to differentiate them from the regular windows. I figured they could follow the doors width. But your observation is noted! Thanks for the feedback.
