Replacing the vanilla game highway ramps
Hi,

just found CSUR, really great work. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, sorry if not: I want to replace the vanilla game highway ramps with those from CSUR. The vanilla highways are two separate 3-lane highways placed closed to each other.

Now, I want to change to the following setup (in drive direction):
1) unmodified 3-lane highway (equal to the part before the vanilla ramp)
2) 3-lane highway with incoming ramp => 4-lane highway
3) 4-lane to 3-lane highway

So, when defining the CSUR highway, I'd use:
1) 3R
2) 3R1R4P=4R
3) 4R=3R

Is the above true? I'm still learning the CSUR numbering system :)

Now, here are my questions:
1) at the above #2, I can't find a CSUR setting to connect the ramp to the vanilla road which made up the ramp, the connection points are on the left lane. Am I missing a CSUR extension packet or is this not possible (or am I missinterpreting how CSUR works)?
2) since the CSUR roads are not centered (at least I couldn't find a centered setup for the above), I need to increase the distance between the two highways - there's no other solution, right? My above solution can't be done with two-way setting?
3) the vanilla highways have an emergency lane, it seems that there's no emergency lane for the CSUR highways?

Regards

I wouldn't suggest using the vanilla with CSUR since CSUR is lane based which means both directions share the same road space but overlapping each others but vanilla consider them as two separate roads.

I am hoping the vanilla highway system could adapt CSUR.

Thank you for your answer. Do you have any suggestions for alternatives?

I know I'm late but if you haven't found a solution, I connected the vanilla 3 lane highway to a vanilla 6 lane large Avenue. From there csur connected seamlessly. I dont think csur can connect to vanilla highways. Only large avenues as far as I know.

No, I didn't find a solution. I uninstalled CSUR, using vanilla roads again. I hope C:S2 will implement more realistic ramps :D

Is it possible to completely remove vanilla highways and use CSUR instead? Will CSUR connect to outside?

How? I've checked all the options and nothing seems obvious. When I start a city it just has the usual 3 lane one way exit and entrance and they don't connect to any of the CUSR roads (as far as I can see) I really like the look of CUSR, and have played around with some of the roads, but without being able to connect it to the highway I'm stummped!

Took me a while to find out but I just connected the 3 Lane one way highways, to a 6 lane avenue. From there csur fit perfectly. Check it out here

I had to make sure I leveled the terrain first. Otherwise I got grass coming through the roads. Hope this helps.

Hi, I might be late too, its a bit tedious and may look a bit weird but I found a way to combine one way 3 lane CSUR and 3 lane vanilla highway.

The vanilla highway lines up with the 1-C-1 form of CSUR so from your CSUR of 3R(3) [1-2-3] you can shift it to 1-C-1 formation then next go straight into the vanilla highway using the 1-C-1 form and adjust the nodes/angles as necessary to make it look better.

So it'll look like: CSUR 3R > Shift /Transition 1-C-1 > Straight 1-C-1 > Vanilla Highway

I only do this so that the CSUR system can have connections to the outside world but I want to shift bulk of the system to CSUR and to be more reliant on rail anyway. Hope this helps and you come back to using CSUR :D

Is it possible to replace the Liberated version of Modern Lighting with the updated version by GCVOs?

I was also troubled by the connection between CSUR/CSUE urban express roads and vanilla highways.

Fortunately, I have personally found a makeshift solution right in the workshop. Here I strongly recommend you all to use SimoG's assets: Highways over Wall .
This series of customized highways can be perfectly compatible with CSUR urban expressways.
Link here: Highways over Wall Complete Collection

Why HoW can be a solution
As a set of "real highways," Highways over Wall come up as a perfect remedy for CSUR, as the latter is not to be recognized by the game's simulation AI as "highway", which causes plenty of flaws in the simulation of cims' traffic behaviors. Combining the two, you can use HoW for highways and CSUR for urban expressways, e.g., Hangang Expressway or typical Chinese urban elevated expressways.

The only drawback of this solution will be a large consumption of your PC's RAM lol.
