Senseless way of goods
After playing a large map and connecting many cities with box trains I notice that the game ships commercial and industrial goods senselessly around the whole map to supply towns with goods from a factory far away while there is one producing the same goods just near by. Sometimes I even see the same goods on a train foth and back.

Is it a general problem of TF, that path finding of goods is rather looking to fill up transport capacity than to take the shortest way to any demand? Or is it this mod, that tries to find a destination for each product entity?

The choice of destination of each individual object (cargo or person) is hard-coded in the game program. Mods can't change this to my knowledge. So it's a general problem, not just with Senseless cargo, I'm afraid. But as long as there is a route, the object will find their destination. The more hubs, the more payment you get for shipping that single object. ;)

IMO the "smart objects" are the major problem of the game. Since TF1 every bigger map ended in a chaotic flow of goods from anywhere to anywhere, making billions of dollars but no more sense in gameplay. I would rather have "stupid objects" that just stay and wait, until I decide to load'em into a designated line to fulfil a signed delivery contract. However this is not a problem of this mod.

I totally agree. I'm also annoyed that trains get full of drifting cargo that is going somewhere on the continent. Especially when playing with integrated networks. You find "lost" cargo all over, that you wonder how it's possible that it arrived there in the middle of nowhere. But indeed, not a problem of this mod, but a general problem of priorities and path finding of the core game.
