Tips on taking sectors as Rebellion?
I'm playing as Rebellion and I want to take sectors, but I have problems taking the Golan III's without bankrupting myself due to their insane durability and fighter spam. So I was wondering if there are any decent tips on taking them out.

Rocket spammer, like the Mandos have.
Or try to avoid them and level up your tech until you can build the Star Defender capital ships :D
IMHO Rebellion is tougher, as beginner choose Empire.

I was able to take them down with fighter spam on my own. Some capital ships with hangars to deal with any bigger garrison ships... Two to three attacks/retreats without getting the bigger vessels into the golan's range and there you have it.

As the Rebellion, the first sector you want to capture is the Calamari sector. It speeds up your ship production and adds a good amount of credits to your monthly income. FYI, Calamari is one of the highest paying sectors in the mod. After you take Calamari, go for the Sith system next. Third, the Corporate Sector. All of these sectors are very close to each other, so the travel time between them will make things much easier.

If you build lots of bombers and fighters, you can easily take the sectors. Advance to tech level 2 if you need forces with more kick. However, if you advance to tech level 2, you won't have long to start hitting sectors and planets before the Sith and Corporate Authority start building attack fleets. Once this happens...you're gonna start losing hair fast LOL! Hope this helps.

If you're only considering those options, go with free spawned fighters/bombers. You want to be able to replace attrition losses in perpetuity. Carriers run out of back-ups, whereas you can manually crank out hundreds of fighters with zero upkeep cost.

OTHERWISE

The Droid destroyer with flak batteries is incredibly good. Take muunilist or Mon Calamari, get a level 3 shipyard, and pull their fighters out first. the flak will obliterate their fighters which should leave the station vulnerable to standard bombing, missiles, and marauder cruisers. IMO they're the perfect support ship if you have a mon cal or other shield tank ship out front and a Nebulon-B to repair chip damage.

Because Muun isn't a system or sector, it can't have golans so you can basically guarantee a capture on it before you ever have to engage defense stations. This approach will delay your capture of mon cal, but the PILE of smaller planets around Muunilist easily make up for it. Just tedious fighting ~12 back to back easy fights and ~12 ground battles. Using the two main northern starting fleets you should be able to own the region by week 30, allowing safe build-up for a proper invasion fleet with back-up fighters.

Spam defenses over Ord Mantell and the Botajef systems at this point, because the Imperial Remnant is going to be coming in HOT from the west and the Hapes have a habit of trying to take Botajef. From here I went around the north-east arm clockwise, taking first the CSA then the Sith - Sith basically making the flak destroyers MANDATORY with their swarms of trash fighters but their ships focus on turbolasers meaning if you drop their torpedo launchers they should NEVER crack your frontline shields. After that, take Mon Calamari and you've effectively won the game or at minimum made it impossible to lose. Speedrun tech levels for HPG/nukes and sit back as 500 population fleets break upon your defenses.

GL,HF, it's doable!
