I would argue against Dom's suggestion. Right now the mission is in a really goo dplace scale wise and doesn't bog down computers with a whole bunch of AI.
Recommendations: Place enemy infantry in some of the buildings. It helps having a few guys placed in the buildings just to keep the player on their feet. I would also describe where the counter-attack is coming from so that the player can prepare for it better.
I noticed that some soldiers seem to be fixed in place (the ones behind the sandbags) that is a bit lousy because they are easy to frag/shoot. Those soldiers should be "released" and go hunting.
The other recommendations still standing (random location sniper patrol, random starting car patrol in loop over the roads) there is absolutely no way to beat this mission at elite level.
It is an army of AI vs me and 5 buddies, no way to make it without a REAL support but it's sure fun trying. As always, I'd love the mission to take a realistic approach.
You can't send 10 men vs 50.
I'd say when the player calls for reinforcements, a front APC, with special forces, a truck of normal soldiers and a rear APC of special forces should get there. Conversely, as they arrive, 2 trucks of AI soldiers should arrive. 1 North and 1 South.
And then you add the 10' to clear the town. If at the end of 10' you're winning, the mission ends with Enemy retreat, if you are losing, the mission task becomes: get the hell out.
Note: Soldiers seem to have glasses but they are not in inventory.
