It seems to be already fixed. Since the update, the problem no longer exists.
Not being to play as a female is fine with me. It fits with the context and time frame.
Another thing:
Prices now seem to be extremely high! 60 thousand denares for some "thick chainmail with surcoat"? The new monetary system seems to lack value consistency, especially when you consider that it costs 5000 to buy a windmill or a business in one of the major cities.
