my only guess is to try playing gmod then click launch steam vr from there instead of launching steamvr then launching gmod

also if you are talking about how u cannot see ur body that is normal he has not updated it yet to tge public

AMD card user here. Black screen for me too.

I found a solution for the black screen! It's indeed an AMD issue. To fix it, you need to downgrade your graphics driver by going to amd.com and downloading the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.5.1 driver. This problem also happens in Google Earth VR, and this fixes it too.

It's still unplayable though IMO, the field of view is horrible, you can't change it and it makes you nauseous in a few minutes. Also the colors are way off and weapons are cut in half. Still though, shooting with the remote controlled rpg from Half-life 2 and controlling the rocket with your hand was one of the coolest VR experiences I've had in a while.

As for changing the controls to work with Oculus Touch, go to the vr settings menu in-game from SteamVR and someone has already made a nice preset for the touch controllers that you can download and use from there.

Lol why? Oculus is exactly as good as the Vive except it has better controllers at least until knuckles are released.

if you couldn't figure that out already then clearly you dont know how dated oculus rift is compared to htc vive its NOT just as good as oculus rift is its garbage compared to htc vive.

What? The Vive was released a month later than the Rift... Will Vive be outdated as well in a month? I personally have nothing against the Vive, I'm a big fan of Valve and hate Facebook, but still from a technical standpoint there is really no difference between the two devices. You didn't even say why the Vive is better, you just said it is better, so your argument is invalid.

In what way? It can run the same games, has just as accurate tracking, and the same visual quality. What makes it garbage?

tbh this hacky ass made addon his vr support is for is ♥♥♥♥ tbh i'm not surprised it got to the front page as most ♥♥♥♥ does now a days so its no longer a huge achievement thanks to the dumb stupidity of this community of dumb children that cant tell whats quality and whats not. As long as garrys mod has no OFFICIAL support for VR platforms people rate up stuff anyways because they think its top quality even if the addon is hacky ass made like the author of this addon even admitted. there's no reason to add vr support to garrys mod as its not like vrchat and source games like garrys is one of the few exceptions to NOT add vr support unlike hl2 where that's perfectly suitable this a sandbox thing not a fps its super awkward to do ♥♥♥♥ with vr controls in a game that was meant to be played with a mouse and keyboard and nothing more.

edit: people still think m9k is quality ♥♥♥♥ when you actually look down into the coding and actual garbage quality of it im sure you would agree with me as m9k is absolute garbo it just gives a sterling example of how people cant tell what is quality and whats not.

someone has to remind you that this is not final version of this mod, this is an experimental version to see if this will even work, and will be upgraded with the future so don't be mad because the mod is shet and kids like it because it is on the top of the workshop page.
Why there's no reason to add vr support to garry's mod but the hl2 is suitable for it? (as i understood your typing because YOU DONT USE THE FREAKING DOTS N' COMMAS)
As you know you can actually run the entire campaign of HL & HL2 + episodes in garry's mod!
Also the argument that sandbox isn't an fps (gmod in this case) isn't an FPS is invalid.
Gmod is an FPS. (change my mind) and fyi the FPS means "FIRST PERSON SHOOTER"
If gmod wouldn't be an fps it would look like LoL, but sandbox or Just Cause.
about m9k: those are just gun css skins ported from gamebanana or other game, they're popular due to they don't need an base, are not so weak and easy to use and aim. Quality isn't only the visual effect, kiddo.

I wasted over 2.6k of hours on sandbox so at least i know what im talking about instead of posting bullcrap like you because you need attention as lots of furries do.

so i get everything to work but its like playing with Pimax i got very heavy distortion. The screens are correct one above the other the 3d is working, the hole world is moving when i turn my Head. edit i use the recommended resolution set your monitor to this resoltion with nvida settings and u can change in game to recomendet resoltion. i try start commands change config file but cant force resolution this way

If your issue is that the screen is black and that you have a Nvidia card than I ain't sure.
If it is displaying an image and it looks weird, mess with the VRMOD settings with FOV etc
