Uh Actually this does not ift tf2s style
Someones gonna say it sure it doesn't but the only thing that matters is the fact that its a pretty mediocre effect not that you know that the virtual world enclosing on the real world doesn't exist yet

"this doesnt fit the artstyle!" says you, about a game with VR headsets, a banana head, and go karts. Also unusual effects with demons vomiting bones on you and DANCING. SKELETONS.

I must agree with you on that point the Artstyle was already in a bad state. the game doesn't need more Artstyle breaking "cosmetics", but I don't think that one it is that bad, compared to other unusual effects.

tl;dr : The crusade must continue, but we must focus on the real bad one "I'm looking at your fat Demoman"
Then explain MvM.

This item fits about as well as any other effect. We still have many hats that call to the sci-fi genre that was starting to take full swing in the late 60's and 70's. On top of that, simple geometry was a style around then. This effect would be completely suitable for tf2, as for an event effect.

"Breaks TF2 artstyle" means literally nothing. Why? TF2 values player expression over art style. Yes, the cartoony, shiny aesthetic remains, but if we just "stuck with the art style," we wouldn't have pootis birds, lime scunts, medic gf, tryhard soldier main, edgy snipers, weeb spies, etc. IMO, these forms of player expression is far more valuable, given how many other games fill the need for "art style" while not many others fill the need of player expression.

TF2's artstyle is defined by sandish, rusty and metalic half-tones and CELL SHADING.

I appreciate the work that went into this effect but we need to be very minimal with neon futuristic stuff.
