Wikipedia, TFB, reference books, IMFDB, gun wikia, and some others are my sources. Also, wikipedia isn’t unreliable, and it is easy to pick out the fluff from what is real, and you can always look at the citations. I do respect peoples opinions and like to express my own, and I do come off as rude and condescending. But look at it from my perspective: if every movie, video game and television show presents the same guns, then those guns become mainstream. As for the rest, no one seems to care, and it gets irritating, to me, to see the same guns show up so many times.
It’d be nice to have variety for a change. Instead of a colt 1911, how about any one of the 1,000 M1911 clones, like any one of Smith amd Wesson’s 1911 clones. There are a lot of fascinating firearms that deserve more attention, and are far more interesting than the standard stuff people always do. Just search “AR-15 patern rifle” into google and marvel at the variety of AR-15s that are not Milspec. But I know I cannot change your opinion so I’ll just leave it at that.
stats ideas
high damage, high recoil, 20 round mags
how it looks
longer barrel than the SCAR-L, and maybe in black?
1. AAC Honey Badger

-suppressed
2. Glock 18
-uses Glock 17 magazines (and extended ones if can)
3. KRISS Vector
-uses 45acp. or 9mm with a mag of 17 bullets or a extended mag of 25
I hope you can add these
IRL PSO/PSU scopes are low power scopes. Russia's military doctrine is geared towards urban engagements long range combat. The SVD is a DMR (Designated Marksmen's Rifle) and as-such does not need a high power scope. This is because you're engaging enemies that are further than infantry engagement ranges (but not to the point of sniper warfare). Because of the nature of a DMR, if you use a high power scope while covering the infantry, your field of view will be obscured, and it can be hard to lay down supportive fire from your position. That is the purpose of the SVD (although yes, Russia does use it as a "sniper" in certain cases, yet again though, a 4x optic is sufficient and they do make higher magnifications. It is that video game culture doesn't popularize reality and goes what you get from Google images). 1p59 Giperon (3x to 10x), Zenit made an 8x power version of the PSO, Belomo 1p-21 (3x to 12x magnification). However, take my research with a grain of salt because in most cases it is hard to track and figure out the scopes used, especially for certain companies and units given the nature of Russia's documentation process for its military. Simply put though, the PSO/PSU is the weakest of Russian optics meant for DMR engagement. If you want to go for sniper engagement, there have been other dovetail scopes to fill this roll. And yes, ACOGs are 4x magnification to 6x magnification. Why? They're mid-range optics like PSO/PSU scopes. Only difference is that they're usually smaller (not always) and are a lot more well documented. Most of the time an American DMR would have an ACOG over a Schmidt and Bender, Burris, insert scope manufacture here, because, as I said, when you have higher magnifications, your FOV is like gone. However, the biggest reason for this is because of the weapon's role. DMRs are not snipers. They function similarly but are completely different animals. A DMR is used in conjunction with the infantry and is a similar role to the support gunner, but instead of high volume of fire, it is a deadly volume of damaging, accurate fire to support the infantry. /rant
