Automatic Pop Migration [Outated - 2.2]
This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important

PLEASE READ - How it works
Setup Steps
  1. Turn on APM with the planetary decision on your capital world

  2. Biological pops need their species rights set to allow migration. It should pick up machines / robots that cannot have this right set. Will not migrate assimilating pops without the ]Assimilating-Focus planet focus.

  3. Optionally change any of the four APM policies to alter behavior around habitability and eligibility (see Policies below)

  4. Optionally mark a planet with a focus with the Set Planet Focus for APM planetary decision (see Planet Focuses below)

Logic
The order of checking for a target planet is as follows
  1. If a preferred planet is set, try and move the pop there
  2. If one or more research-focus worlds are set and the pop has a research-boosting trait, try and move the pop there
  3. If one or more mining-focus worlds are set and the pop has a mining-boosting trait, try and move the pop there
  4. If one or more food-focus worlds are set and the pop has a food-boosting trait, try and move the pop there
  5. If one or more energy-focus worlds are set and the pop has a energy-boosting trait, try and move the pop there
  6. Try and move the pop based on habitability, starting with 100% habitable worlds, going down 10% every check
  7. If a Migrate Toilers-Focus has been set on a Thrall-World, attempt to migrate Toilers using above logic.

Other Info
  • You need a minumum of 1001 credits for this to fire

  • Pops should move around the 3rd day of the month

  • Ignores species who are marked for assimilation

  • Can move slaves on Thrall-Worlds that have the Toiler job if the focus is added to the planet

  • The unemployed and homless policy setting means it only looks for unemployed pops on worlds that are overcrowded

  • The all unemployed policy setting means that it looks for all unemployed pops regardless of housing status

Policies
Auto Pop Migration - Habitability
  • Habitability 60% minimum - Only allows automatic pop resettlement if the target planet has at least 60% habitability.

  • Habitability 80% minimum - Only allows automatic pop resettlement if the target planet has at least 80% habitability.

  • Any Habitability - Automatic pop resettlement to any owned planets.

Auto Pop Migration - Eligibility
  • Unemployed and Homeless - Only allows automatic pop resettlement if the pop is unemployed on an overcrowded planet. Planet must have BOTH overcrowding and unemployment.

  • All Unemployed - Targets all unemployed pops for automatic pop resettlement.

Forced Habitability Migration
  • None - No forced migration

  • Less Than 60% Habitability - Move pops that have less than 60% habitability regardless of employment or housing status. A maximum of 3 pops per month. The last pop on planet will not move. Increased risk of building destruction.

  • Less Than 40% Habitability - Move pops that have less than 40% habitability regardless of employment or housing status. A maximum of 3 pops per month. The last pop on planet will not move. Increased risk of building destruction.

Auto Pop Migration - Free Jobs
  • Required - Require free jobs on the target planet.

  • Ignored - Ignore jobs on the target planet.

Planet Focuses
Only one focus can be set on a planet at a time.

Target Planet Focuses
  • Set as Preferred Planet - Marks this planet as the preferred destination for Automatic Pop Migration. Only one planet can be marked as preferred at a time.

  • Set Research-Focus - Marks this planet as a research-focued location for Automaic Pop Migration. Pops that have research traits will be more likely to migrate here.

  • Set Energy-Focus - Marks this planet as an energy-focued location for Automaic Pop Migration. Pops that have energy traits will be more likely to migrate here.

  • Set Mineral-Focus - Marks this planet as a mineral-focued location for Automaic Pop Migration Pops that have mining traits will be more likely to migrate here.

  • Set Food-Focus - Marks this planet as a food-focued location for Automaic Pop Migration. Pops that have food production traits will be more likely to migrate here.

Source Planet Focuses
  • Set MigrateToilers-Focus - Marks this planet to migrate Toilers away from this Thrall-World.

  • Set No Migration-Focus - Marks this planet as a no-migration allowed location for Automaic Pop Migration. Pops are not migrated off of this planet.

  • All Homeless-Focus - Marks this planet to move all pops that are homeless regardless of employment status.

  • Assimilating-Focus - Marks this planet to allow the migration of assimilating pops.

Troubleshooting
There are a couple of test events you can fire from the console that will write information to the game.log file.
  • From the console you can run event eac_apm_test.0 to get general setup information.
  • With a planet window open, you can run event eac_apm_test.1 from the console to see the diagnostics on what the mod thinks should happen on that planet.
These still need some work but hopefully can help.

Yes a good read.... Thanks for this mod. The pops management is just a drag on an otherwise masterpeice of a game....... But that's just my opinion.

I can't get it to work. I tried running the events and it said no event found.

I don't seem to get mod working. I turned it on on my capital. I am fanatic xenophobe spiritualist, if that prevents mod from working.

Not sure if you are reading this forum, sent you a friend request by the way.

Well, that works for today, but if just restricting clerks( as an example) that mod will consume 150 energy every month with 0 effect whatsoever,so if one LOVES to RESTRICT USELESS JOBS, that mod NOT FOR YOU
