The event would fire if the PC is Emperor of Rome and he hadn't started as one (since it will mention Nero's tyranny and in case if Nero wouldn't rule at all as in Empire start, this would have no sense).
Let's say that once you rest in Rome after taking power in the Empire and dealing with senators and Nero's wife, you get an event mentioning young slave girl which you meet in the Palace. The event tells that you notice that she doesn't act like usual slave from the streets - she seems to be learn and tactful, having behaviour similar more to Roman aristocrat than slave. You also notice that she is rather shy and sad person, yet humbly follow all tasks you request from her. Then the event description mentions that you decide to ask courtiers who remember Nero's rule about her. They say you (The PC, that is Emperor) that young slave used to be member of influential patricii family back in Nero's time, but they went into disgrace when Nero decided that he wants their wealth and properties. He then, accused pater familias of treason and ordered to execute most of living members of the family, except her and the few, who hidden their relationship to that family.
After that, he turned her into his slave to serve in Domus Augusti. This caused major scandal in the Empire and high resentment towards Nero (like in many other cases) and the player would get option what to do with her.
He could:
Liberate and marry her (assuming he is unmarried until then), reversing Nero's criminal judgement and gaining her as his wife and companion, aswell as honour, right to rule (due to marrying into Roman aristocratic family) and thanks of selected group of Roman nobles who were related to her.
Liberate and adopt her, giving honour and popularity and her as PC's daughter and companion, aswell as possibility to designate her as heir to Roman Empire, which, unlike giving such option to other companions, who give positive opinion from the nobles, given she was of aristocratic birth.
Liberate her and allow her to the Imperial Court, marrying her into one of the aristocrats. This would turn her into normal NPC lady, married to random unmarried Roman general. This would make her and the general grateful, and the public happy.
Continue enslavement, which would cause resentment and loss of honor since the public would judge this as tyrannical treatment.
Execute her as potential claimant to the Imperial throne, which, while strenghtening the right to rule (afterall, the potential claimant to throne was executed) would give huge loss to honor and high resentment among nobles of the Roman Empire, maybe also riots.

My apologies for forcing you to work on various ideas, many minor like that, but I really enjoy your mod and got an idea that PC needs somewhat a bit extended family and that new, noble companion like her with an event attached to her would be a nice addition.
No problem, I like your suggestion, I will keep it in mind

I don't know if its possible or not given the game engine, but during siege preparations, when you sneak inside the town to scout out the defenses, it would be very useful if it took you into the actual siege map showing you where the ladders will go and any breaches in the walls. Now it just shows you the peacetime town, so you don't know which way you're coming in from. It would be super cool if you could actually see the siege camp outside with all your guys lined up

Some quality of life suggestions:

A troop tree viewer so we can compare troops and see who upgrades into what.

Player and companion kill counts in the after-battle report. This is something that a few mods have. Its fun and pretty useful to see just how well everyone performs in battles

Also, an option to disable bodyguards in town. I find them annoying when there's more then one. They're always getting in my way in taverns, plus they make prison breaks very easy

You suggestions sound reasonable
Btw, bodyguard depends on leadership and renown

I suspect this probably is way outside your planned scope, and it's not a very important mechanic, but I'll share the idea anyway.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_province
TIL, there were two kinds of provinces in Rome, some where the Emperor was in charge of appointing governors, and some - the Senate. The idea was that core peaceful provinces with few legions made a buffer between Rome and those militarized places, so some ambitious governor couldn't just have a legion in Neapolis to call upon when somebody looks at him wrong in the Senate.

Since you already have a Nero vs Senate thing going, and a peaceful quest to get your first town through Nero, it would be cool if there was an alternative way to do it through the Senate. Nero's quest would trigger for a town in imperial provinces, and Senate quest for towns in senatorial ones. This way you could make a political play out of staunchly opposing the Emperor, not just suck up to him to be awarded fiefs like you do in every M&B mod.

Most importantly, though, I would restrict building of the barracks in towns that were senatorial provinces.

The idea is very good, since it would make the senate more usefull. I will think about it.

Glad you like it. I really look forward to what you are doing with the senate according to your blog, by the way. One of the coolest things about this mod is all the "non-typical M&B" things you can do that feel immersively Roman. And senate politics is such a big part of society and life in Rome, it'll be great to see that grow in prominence.

I really hope politics and building support will some day become a prerequisite and intermediate step to becoming Emperor. Right now it seems too quick. I just started getting my bearings as a lord and suddenly I'm told by magic volcano fumes ;) I just need to talk to the Praetorian Guard commander, who out of the blue goes "sure, I'll totally support you in committing treason against the last in the only dynasty of emperors the empire had so far, just go to Rome and we'll git-er-done". I reloaded after that just to draw out the experience. Senate politics and building a secret coalition would be an excellent intermediate step before starting a civil war.

I don't own any villages so I don't know if you implemented your idea about slaves generating additional income for villages. Also I can heal party in sacred grove, which is nice idea, but it's only in one location on the map (?) so use is very limited. Are there any other applications for slaves currently?
It would be cool if we could use slaves to boost income from enterprises and towns. Also female slaves could be used to boost party morale (even when they are prisonners), like with camp followers. Perhaps we could sacrifice them in certain locations (like Stonehenge and others) to improve some stats. Maybe you can also think of other ideas, because now they seem useless to me other than just selling them (and I don't see reasons to visit slave markets right now).

@thekekgames yes, if you own a village you can let them work their, but you must built a manor first (manor allows garrison management, to let the slaves work simply but them into the garrison as prisoners)
I added also a quest in the next version where you must bring x amount of slaves to a roman lord for a construction project. But you are right, there could be more things to do with them

You could add dialog option when talking to your enterprise master - for example give him 10 slaves to improve profits from the enterprise (just add some percentage to income, or just a certain amount of money) the number of slaves and therefore the bonus income can be different for different enterprises. Same thing with Domus Mare, having more slaves could make it more attractive for rich tenants and therefore increase your profits.
Also I have a question regarding Venus temple - what is the bonus? It says something like "you feel younger" but I didn't see any changes.

If you are looking for more content ideas related to slaves, it may be worth exploring the sides of Roman slavery that aren't the stereotypical "slaves are chattel worked to death or fed to lions for fun". Although that form of slavery certainly existed, there was also the more surprising forms, where slaves were educated, treated reasonably well, allowed to have property and to earn enough to buy their freedom and become clients rather than slaves. So, options to set up trade schools and dormitories around the Domus Mare, have your slaves learn and become skilled professionals, and then be able to free them and invest your money into helping them set up their small business, which will pay you a percentage of profits, would be a good addition, I think.

Even regardless of slaves, people coming to you with business ideas periodically and asking to patronize them with an investment, which then yields dividends every budget period (or fails) sounds like fun.

There is a global variable in the game which measures how healthy you are (you can see it in the camps menu), Venus improves your health. You should also visit the baths regularly, otherwise you will sooner or later be visited by a the death (in some unexpected form)

Yes, if you use the beggar start, your father was such a slave.
I am quite sure I will not run out of ideas! Hahaha.

Btw, I aready added some of the patron ideas in some senate events. And most of the stuff you discribe will be a thing if I start working on the "Latifundia system".

Here's another little suggestion. Some people are confused about legion creation, which is a major and awesome feature. When equiping them I thought that I had to drag items into empty character slots (which would make more sense) but actually you're supposed to drag items from the inventory on the right to the inventory on the left. So maybe you should get rid of the character model with armor and weapon slots in the middle (or just cover it with rectangle, so it wouldn't be visible). Or at least just explain this process in the dialogue.

I will explain it better. The character in the middle has also some meaning, you can use him to see how the equipment looks on the troop.

I know I could create my own fency presentation like other mods have, but I don't like that (because its so time consuming)

(In fact, the code uses the native loot screen.)
