You should make copies of your saves elsewhere. They're in your documents folder.

Mod is amazing! The only bug I've encountered so far is during sieges. Whenever I fight sieges on the battle map I always get instakilled by "taken damage from fire" no matter what I do. It makes sieges actually unplayable for me. This doesn't seem to be map-specific too. It happens in multiple settlements of differing factions.

This doesn't happen for no reason and isn't a "no matter what I do". Defenders get few fire pots to throw and if you are hit, then, yes, you die. Going to war is dangerous. So don't rush in the first lines like a movie hero. Send some expendables in first and follow behind them, while keeping a close eye on what the defenders are doing and laying fire on them to protect your troops. Firepot guys, obviously, are priority targets. Consider this cowardly hiding behind your troops like a rich nobleman who doesn't want to die, or smartly orchestrating your troops capabilities for maximum effect, since AI can play assaulting infantry fairly competently, but sucks at providing covering fire, compared to what you can do.

Do these guys only appear on the initial defender wave or do reinforcement waves have these guys too?

It's been a while and I don't 100% remember, but I think once you are in the walls, they don't throw it anymore. The way I usually siege is do fire support initially, while infantry climbs the walls and takes casualties, then follow them to the wall and switch up between ranged and melee as the situation requires. Initially, there are usually small groups all along the wall that I can assault and clear out, which saves lives of my infantry disproportionally from not having to take fire from sides/rear. If there is just a big scuffle of two masses of infantry left, I'd usually stay back and take headshots at the enemy mass. Once my side has a clear advantage and we made it to the streets themselves, I might lead troops in melee on the streets.

In all these stages, I recall the firepots only being a threat in the initial storming of the wall. So if you strategize how to do that without being first in line, you should be fine.

Also, firepots aren't the only thing that will kill you if you decide to be a hero and climb siege ladders ahead of your troops. You'll be the magnet for every javelin and when you get to the top you'll be outnumbered by a tight mass of infantry. Won't be insta-kill, but still pretty dangerous for a general to do. Siege battles are long and involve hundreds from each side, so don't just think you can personally carry the day. Your job is to set things up for your troops to win and act as a force multiplier.

I've tried your advice but it seems that no matter how far away I run to avoid the firepots I keep getting killed. I could run all the way to the map border and they still throw it far enough for me to die.

I'd say that sounds like a bug, then. Homing missile firepots that chase you down to the end of the map are not how it should work, IMO.

If you wait until you become Caesar to turn Christian, the quest "A Christ called Paulus" cannot be finished. The option to ask the guard to see him is never offered.

Hey, I'm facing an issue with texture corruption and inability to save game while playing on a mac.

To give some context, i have been playing warband mods on my 2015 mac for a few years now, and a mod working on my system is mostly hit or miss. I dont think i would change to a windows system anytime soon.

This mod works fine initially but then props up an issue similar to the one i encountered playing TLD mod on mac, where entire swathes of textures go black or white or some other color, and you are no longer able to save the game. in TLD, the trigger of this happening was related to the start of the main war with sauron.

Over here though, the pattern i've noticed is that after entering and exiting a couple of scenes, whether it be a battlefield, city streets or inside a building, there is a chance that this corruption of textures and inability to save kicks in. at that point I have to restart the game and load the last save. if this happened lets say like once every hour or so, I could have lived with it but this seems to happen every few minutes of active play, which becomes rather frustrating.

Any fixes or tweaks to the settings I can implement to get rid of this issue or at least reduce its frequency of occurence?

ajhd - if you are in the army it tends to crash more, but after that it gets better.

NOOOO!!!
I conquered THE WORLD and had nothing left to do!!! I had the world at my fingertips and a solid successor! And guess what? The guards for some reason turned to strange Germanic beasts one day! Augusta Poppaea and my minister went over to some backwater castle in Britannia because I apparently lost Rome! How!?!?! I had over ten thousand men posted there! Then, at the entrance to the Atrium Augusti there was a tiny me! Like the model for a child Civis but ME!!! He was creepy, kept making strange laughing and saying he would kill me! I lost access to the Domus Augusti, nobody addressed me as Caesar anymore, I lost all my Senate followers, and the nobility openly waged war against Rome itself!!!
WHAT THE...
