You must enable the mod on your profile before you can use it

Both my friend and I have this installed and enabled and we still can't get this to work, is it just supposed to be throug the normalo menus or somewhere else we can use this?

No the mod makes it so that your lobbies are always available in the lobby list. If both of you have the same mods then you guys should be able to connect to eachother when in the tower
