Stats - when you see .exe, you know it just has to crash some day.
Needs the following stats:

On headshot removes hat from enemy for duration of life.
Upon viewing 10 and more hats simultaneously aquires "Pick.exe has stopped working" status with following effects:
- Weapon animation freezes
- Cannot switch weapons
- Cannot deal or receive damage
Status can be reset at supply locker.

I mean, really. It fits the name plus allows you to behat the object of your hat collector's envy, even if for a short time. What's not to like?

yeah and if youre on a PC and get a kill and shows a pc window that says Pick.exe Has stopped responding
on a mac, a mac window says Unfortunately, The Application Pick.exe Has stopped Responding.

How could you Headshot with a melee weapon?
And what if the other person is a hatless heavy?

Well, uh, you can hit enemy's head hitbox.
In case of hitting bald heavy guy, I consider it appropriate to apply extreme wobbling to weapon and disable it for couple of seconds. After all, that pick was designed for crushing faces, not mining rocks.
