Braving Hazards
Braving Hazards

You can manually handle Braving Hazards, or you can let the game handle them.

Each Ship or Fleet has a (!) Brave Hazard Button. Clicking this will cause the ship/fleet to detect if it is on a Hazardous System or face up Exploration Card. If none are detected, it will ask you the Hazard level.

Successfully Braving a Phenomenon will auto collect the Research token(s). The player will be reminded that they can move it onto an active Project if they want.

The procedure for Braving Hazards is to drop the Ship/Fleet onto the Hazard, then click (!). You'll get prompted with the Hazard name and level, and asked to confirm Yes/No.
No will cancel the Hazard, Yes will roll for the Hazard and apply the results. The Chat will inform you of the Shields, Special Rules, etc.

Hey this is really cool, I love the idea, a lot of saved down time over the course of a game.

We found two bugs, first the Briar Patch is listed as a 4 Hazard when it is a 5, second it seems that letting the auto-brave system give you Research is bugging out the Research supply. This could be unrelated but it's the most obvious cause. What happens is if you use the auto-brave system, and then remove Research to spend it, you get a message that you have no research even though you have a visible stack.

Hi Jim,
I am able replicate the Research supply bug. Should be able to fix that.
The Hazard 4 on The Briar Patch is very confusing to me. I saw the stream and it does say Hazard [4], but in my games, whenever I test it, it correctly uses Hazard [5]. If it isn't too much trouble, can you load that saved game up and right-click the Briar Patch and look at the Description? It should say: "System;Hazard:5;Phenomenon;Cardassian;" It reads the Hazard from the description.
As for the Vulcan Science. I didn't read the OR as exclusive, but you guys convinced me that it probably is. I'll add a prompt to that fleet allowing for the choice of something like: "Brave for free" OR "Brave with re-rolls".

Research supply bug is fixed. I couldn't find a problem with the Briar Patch. Plz check it's Description and see if it is corrected to Hazard:5 with this latest update.
The Vulcan Science Halitra will now prompt you with "Reroll Failures?". Note that the reroll is only for "Hazardous System Tests" so you won't get rerolls for things like Exploration Card Hazard events.
Off topic: You should now be able to mess around with the Turn Order cards at the start of the game to randomize things. The game will repair the deck when it needs to use it.

Awesome! Thanks again! We'll try to help you out debugging the Briar Patch.

Found it! Ok, it is correct on the Disc at first. I have a table in Global that stores a database of all systems, and updates their names when they are explored. When the system is explored, it gets changed to Hazard:4. I'll fix it shortly, and double check all the others.
Thanks!

Note: The Max Lanes and Hazard values are backwards on both The Briar Patch and Paulson Nebula. I didn't find any others, but will double check one more time.
