Wait, the amount of thanos based comments gave me an interesting concept, sadly I'm terrible at model making so I'd never be able to design it myself, but the concept is a glove with a green LED, red LED, blue LED, purple LED and an orange LED, the glove itself would change color depending on the Engineer's team, reloading would change the active effect, green would heal enemies, allies and buildings, red would damage enemies and their buildings while giving allies five seconds of crits while simply upgrading buildings, blue would slow down enemies, disable buildings (Think the cow mangler), speed up allies and restore ammo to friendly buildings, the purple LED would be the standard active mode on spawn, hitting an enemy with the glove while in this mode would simply push them (Think shovestop), however this shove would work on allies as well, with good enough timing you could reflect a rocket, pipe or other such projectile effected by the airblast too, finally we reach the orange LED, it's unique effect would be applying afterburn on enemies hit, dealing great damage to buildings (Even your own) and extinguishing allies, it should be noted that only the green LED can heal buildings and only red can upgrade, as well as blue being the only mode that restores ammo, I intentionally didn't include an effect for the purple LED on buildings because a shove wouldn't have much use. Where it really gets fun is the taunt, the engineer would slam his fists together giving off a circle effect on the ground, remain in the circle for too long and you'll fade away (Think any energy weapon's kill effect), what makes it unique however is that the color of the surrounding glow on the model will vary depending on the mode the weapon's in, this goes for the circle as well.

Idea that came to me shortly after posting this: Mini dispencer, smaller, less health, faster metal and ammo dispersion, faster healing, faster build, less metal cost (50 seems reasonable), cannot be upgraded and is just plain adorable, like a little plush dispencer (Think the packed provisions)

Edit: Perhaps the weapon could be in a set with the hat

It would be too versatile and complicated, which would make using it feel like a broken vaccinator.
As it has five modes, it would be difficult to get to the correct one, and otherwise break the flow of the game.
