Please leave any feedback you have concerning things that aren't working or things you would like to see added, changed, or removed.

Thanks!

*************************************************************************

Fixed/Changed Items (V4?):

Planned Changes for the Next Version (V4):

- Add the "Wonder Bonus" - different governments add extra production when producing certain types of wonders (and perhaps regular buildings as well - to a lesser extent). Tied to government focus and building flavors.

- Have discovered a way to launch the World Governments popup by clicking on the notification buttons on the right side of the screen. Will take a lot of work, so we're not there yet, unfortunately.

------------------------------------

Older reported problems that I haven't been able to recreate in testing - Still haven't seen this through about 2 days of testing:

- Just wanted to let you know that your ''Covert operation - Making Spies Great again''- mod is making this mods government window selection to turn into place holder text ''placeholder_text_written_like_this''

- "placeholder_text_written_like_this" errors - from where?

Don't know if it's just me but the units (civilian as well as military) get a continuously blinking tab - like the one you get for promotions. And the icons - both for promotions and for actions - are out of whack: Colonists have the violin icon of Musicians for Buil A City, Peasants have Buils a Moai for Buils a Farm, Military units have Write a Treatise for Healing etc.

Thanks, @spin. Can you tell me what other mods you have loaded?
spin Aug 13, 2018 @ 3:29am
@S-Man That's what baffles me: since I've read that sometimes MODs don't play nice with each other, I always have only one MOD loaded for each game. In this case, After The Revolution.
I've had similar issue with the MOD Patria Grande - Chile, if it's any help?

You're doing the right thing when testing a new mod. Did you clear the game cache before you tried this? It's usually a good idea, especially if you've been enabling/disabling mods a lot.

Sometimes you just need to purge the databases, so the game will start with a fresh copy.

Er. I had no idea I even had a game cache, when playing on Steam. (CiV is my first game on Steam, as well as pretty much all I've played in the last year)

No worries. Clearing the game cache is fairly straightforward. However, if you have subscribed to a lot of mods, it can sometimes take a while for all the mods to re-download from Steam.

Here are the instructions:

1. Exit Civ V

2. Open Windows Explorer (WIN-E key combination)

3. Navigate to the Game's main folder - usually some place like:

C:\Users\XXXX\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5

where XXXX is the user who installed the game

4. Single left-click on the folder named "cache" - then press the DELETE key.

5. Restart CIv V.

6. Press on the "Mods" option and accept the warning.

7. You should next see any subscribed mods redownloading.

What this does is "force" the game to rebuild a clean copy of its databases. It really helps when you first try out a new mod to have these databases clean. Of course, later on when you have 100 mods downloaded, it will take a few minutes when you delete the cache.

And don't worry - you really can't hurt the installation by deleting the cache folder. It rebuilds automatically at next game start.

Thank you! Deleted cache and tried out both your After The Revolution and the other one - and they work fine.
ALL THE UPVOTES TO YOU!

Good to hear. Have fun!

Is it possible to add a system where negative tensions grow between two civs of differing government types? Like all government types dislike anarchy and vise versa, fascism vs communism vs democracy, and republic vs monarchy?
S-Man  [developer] Aug 22, 2018 @ 6:59am
@Cadwyck - unfortunately, no it's not possible. There is only 1 LUA method in the API that adjusts relationships between civs. It's included so the DLC scenario builders could set up "who hates whom" and have the civs play accordingly during the game.

It's really designed to only work before the game starts, so there are several things it does that mess up things when it fires during game.

The biggest problem is the method works by raising/lowering a civ's "diplomatic score" - which happens normally during the game when a civ declares war, bullies a city state, etc. It does this for both civs.

However, other civs (not the original 2) "see" these changes and adjust their own attitudes towards both of the original civs as if they had done something wrong/right. This quickly spins out of control and all civs adjust their attitudes towards the original 2. Multiply this across all civs and how they relate to other civs, and the diplomatic system quickly devolves into a mess that really doesn't reflect reality at all.

@S-Man Ah, that's too bad. Thank you for responding!

Hi, I think I've got a small bug but in my game even though the mod works and I can change my government, I don't seem to get any options for the Wonders that are listed. I've unlocked Constitutional Monarchy, for example (researched Economics and unlocked Aesthetics social policy tree) but don't even see the House of Parliament as an option to build in any of my cities. This holds true for all buildings/wonders. Admittedly I'm running a bunch of mods but this was my most recent install and the rest of the mod seems to work just fine so I'm not sure what the issue may be.
S-Man  [developer] Aug 26, 2018 @ 4:34am
@arjeidi - the mod automatically "builds" the wonder in your capital city when you change governments. If you look at the City View UI, you should see it in the right side of the screen where the other wonders in the city are listed.

When you change governments, the mod will remove the old wonder and put in the new one associated with the new government.

If the building is not there, then you're probably not getting the benefits of the government either.
arjeidi Aug 26, 2018 @ 8:48am
I didn't think to check the list to see it auto-built, oops. I feel stupid now, but thanks for the quick response!

No worries. It's very easy to miss. Emjoy!
