Glass?

My usual strategy when starting a new village is to throw down a boarding house and work on resource gathering and food production before moving on to the housing. To my surprise I couldn't do that in this mod because I need glass. I'm fine with that but... how do I go about getting said glass resources?

For future reference you need to build a sand pit and a glass maker.
