Performance Issues
Hi,

I've been getting some pretty bad performance issues (mainly drop in FPS to the point where the game becomes almost unplayable) and I'm not sure whether it's caused by AOTR or by EAW itself, because I have read about how some users have encountered similar performance issues with the base EAW on Windows 10.

I'm using a gaming laptop with the following specs:

Intel Core i7-6700K 4Ghz (8 CPUs)
16GB Ram
nVidia GeForce GTX 1070

I've played Galactic Conquest which has been fine so far since the battles were relatively small. However, I recently got attacked by a huge rebel fleet with an insane number of fighters. The moment the fighters were detected and the fog of war lifted to reveal them, things started to slow down a lot. Once the lasers started going off, things got unplayable.

I just tried out a 2v2 skirmish battle as well. Things would start out well, but after about 10 minutes when everyone has a sizeable fleet of fighters, frigates, and some other capital ships, things start to get really choppy to the point where it's unplayable.

Can anyone offer any advise or help on this?

I wish I can give you the solution, but I'm searching for it myself. Nonetheless I can give you some reassurance. My fps is ♥♥♥♥ no matter where I am or what not... Looking at the galactic conquest Galaxy map, screw it... 20 fps. Big battle, that's a big middle finger. The only time I had a grace period of 60 fps is in a small ground battle, the tutoral map, or when I send in one ship into a space battle

Yeah, tried to play it just now and it eventually got so slow a syn error occured for me but not for my buddy I was playing with.

i tried to turning down the graphics all the way to low settings to see if it helps but it doesn't, i really want to know why this is happening so often. My only guess there's something inside the mod that makes this happening.

Thanks guys. Sucks, but at least it's somewhat comforting to know that I'm not the only one facing these issues. Really love the mod and the updated models / animations and I just want nothing more in life than to be killing some rebel scum.

all large mods for this game have fps drops this mod is not the worst of alle the mods out there. IT is AI lagg (CPU heavy) more complex the AI is the more lagg U get
