yes the zoom speed is currently fps-dependent.
I plan to make it independent of that in the next version (so lagg spikes would also still look smooth). But the wallpaper limiting the fps by wallpaper-engine settings is actually intended behaviour - or what do you mean?
Also: when you've got a fix of some sort, feel free to share it on pastebin or something else and post a link, so I can take a look at it :)
The skin doesn't look good at all when it is under 60fps, so this is the only skin I've come across where I think not allowing the fps to be controlled by wallpaper engine's global setting is beneficial. Perhaps make the fps control a setting within the skin itself? That would be perfect!
And sorry that you feel disappointed about the fps Lock \:
I thought it would be good for people with bad hardware to implement this feature of wallpaper engine but I guess youre right that at the moment it doesnt really look good with values < 60.
Ill probably make it a wallpaper setting then :)
Future work can be looking into a way to not tie the motion to fps, so that reducing fps does not slow down the motion. Currently if I set it to 20fps it just cuts the speed to a third. Along with an fps slider, engine-fps independence will be the most substantial improvement you can make to this amazing wallpaper, and I look forward to your updates. :)
This probably happened after changing one of the "Advanced Settings" right?
It seems like there is an error with automatically reloading the wallpaper.
Im working on it now.
workaround:
after you changed any of the Advanced Settings (and screen goes black), select another wallpaper and re-selet this wallpaper (like it was before).
If so, can you please try resetting the config and see if the issue persists?
I havent changed that much with the settings in the background, but perhaps this leads to incompability.
Here is my preset:
