I did the same with a outlander but the starting pet was a ferret and it worked normally.
Then i tried it with a berserker and a panther but this time instead of choosing a 6/6 appearance like with my first outlander i took 1/6 appearance so i guess the bug has to do something with appearances.
I have no idea how to fix this, so I may just need to remove those skins unfortunately.
Needless to say it was a pain in the ass tracking down all the modded skins that conflict with certain Essences (they weren't only the vanilla ones), but I think I've fixed them all.
I wasn't able to test out every different skin with every different Essence, so I may have missed some crash scenarios. If you ever get the chance, give it a try and let me know if you encounter any problems.
Comparisons are showing for the rings & amulets from both my character and my pet at the same time. Makes it hard to see what's what with all those little floating windows on the screen. Really happy about the update giving me a Claptrap as a pet, though! :D
Temporary fix for anyone who may be searching for this: Go back to early-game areas and find some simple rings & amulets that don't have enchants, sockets, and whatnot; at least then it's easier to see which rings are yours vs. your pet's.
Glad I spoke up, then. I'd guess a different comparison set for the pet would be more trouble than it's worth. Maybe you could just disable those jewelry items from showing up in the comparisons at all? Thanks again, and good luck.
