How do I upgrade?

Do I need to start a new game to upgrade? How can I upgrade an existing save? Trying to get rid of "No Initiative" bug

Maybe you should read the pinned thread that is specifically about how you upgrade..?

the savest way is to do all the changes in a fresh save....
