Scripted looting
Is it possible to get looting scripted, I mean if I end my turn on a coin, move that coin to a coin-pile for my character.

When the scenario ends (maybe a finish scenario button needs to be created), calculate how much gold I get according to the scenario-level bonus and also add the XP.
Change these values, print this in the log and remove the coins.

I'm quite new to TTS so I hadn't figured out that I needed to start a new game and import my characters to get the new functionality.

or is there a better way?

No, there isn't a better way, sadly. You do have to copy your data from an existing save (typically as a bunch of saved objects) and replace those objects in the updated mod with your saved ones. There's a pinned post near the top of the forum with details on how to do that.
