How to best retire a character?
We got some characters we want to retire, which have card enhancements.
What's the best way to do this and keep the enhancements?

Since you only need the abilities of a character, you could just store the ability cards in the character box and delete the rest of the character (mat, etc.). That way you don't run into problems when migrating to a new version of the mod. If you choose to play the class again, you just drag a fresh box onto the player area and switch out the ability cards.

You could even just store the enhanced cards and just switch them out with the freshly spawned cards.

you could get a fresh class out and grab the abilities out and delete... put your abilities in. rightlick the infinity envelope and and press reset. then dropp the edited box on the envelope. now you should always get the new ability cards with the class

We do what Kijan outlined and it works well. The challenge is when something about the base character gets updated (IE new character sheets) you may need to do some additional work when you upgrade your file.

For our group, I've found that when you've completely finished closing out that particular character(you've sold everything, made the enhancements, picked a card/perk if you leveled or finished your third check, went to the Town Records, reset and clear the playmat for someone potentially picking that class in the future), is to right-click the "Add/Remove Player" to get that finished character back in the individual box, then make two copies. Put the original infinite bag into the big box along with one of the copies that were made, then place the two remaining boxes in the tavern area and lock them. That way they're ready for the future, but not accidentally interacted with.

I get there's a lot of redundancy in that process, but it's simple to do and accommodates for potentially many different failure states. You always have access to a fresh character and you have copies of how they finished their adventuring days.

just box it up what's the problem
