Gloomhaven - Fantasy Setup (Scripted UI)
Where are treasure chest items?
I'm looking at all the items in the row, and it seems like the one group missing are items you find in treasure chests during scenarios. I found a deck in the box that is labeled as such, and numbered with those numbers, but appear to have 2 states - looking like a treasure chest... or being a picture of the wrong side of an item card.

Where are the actual treasure chest item cards?

If you use state 2, it should reveal the treasure.

The actual item cards are listed as Reward Cards, I believe, at the top of the column to the left of the play area.

I appreciate your responses, but no dice :/

State 2 - I tried this. When I change to state 2 of the corresponding treasure card (41 in this case) it reveals on the card itself what the treasure is, but only by name. It also very very briefly displays "0%" in the top right corner as if it's Doing Something, somewhere, somehow. On the assumption that maybe it is inserting the corresponding card - e.g. the actual item a player would have in their inventory - in one of the treasure decks, I checked them after switching to State 2, and there is no change. Unless the card is appearing in the box or nested 3 layers deep inside other things, it doesn't appear to be showing up.

Reward cards - Checked this too, both after switching to state 2, and before. In all cases no change. From where I'm sitting the reward card deck appears to be the items you get as rewards for completing scenarios, vs. the cards you get for looting a treasure chest.

In all cases, I tried the above in a few different states, and even a fresh load of the mod, just to make sure I didn't screw something up along the way and... no dice.

I really really really appreciate the work that went into this free thing that I didn't pay for, but sometimes I wish there was a non-scripted version that just had everything in one place where you could Control+F through it :/

Any other help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your response! But no luck - identical behavior.

Can you confirm the expected behavior please?

Is the treasure card supposed to change into the item card? Is the treasure card switching to state 2 supposed to add the item card somewhere?

I want to make sure I'm being clear as I can, and since I can't attach images here I have to describe it.

Searching for this -- *F24383624AD6816EA2B9DBDBD8A9ED780755B391* -- I find 2 files, a jpg and a rawt file. Opening the JPG, fourth row down, first on the left, "Black Knife" - that is what I see when I switch to state 2. What I am unable to find is the specific Item card, that a player might take into their possession, that has a picture of the item and it's description. As of yet it isn't clear to me yet how this is supposed to work, so I'm not 100% sure if I am even looking in the right place :/

Can you post a screenshot of what the Treasure Card looks like after you change it to State 2?

Also, IIRC from the physical game, there's a treasure index in the back of the scenario book. Try turning to the last pagse from the scenario book and see if you can index them that way.

In State 1 (the state it has when I pull it out of the treasure deck) it looks like a treasure chest on each side.

State two changes one side to look like this: https://imgur.com/a/zyyO8ih

I did check the scenario book at your suggestion, and it just confirms what I already knew with regard to what item and item number it is. Otherwise the book is not interactive in any way there - can't check the boxes or click the names or anything.

Ok, so it says you need to get Item 053. Go to the left side with all the item decks, and there's a deck called "Reward Items". It's right next to the deck with Blue backs. Right click it, hit search, and look for Black Knife.
Orthopraxis Apr 4, 2020 @ 12:51pm
Nope, no luck. The reward deck starts (with a fresh load of the mod, and not a save state) with 45 cards and doesn't ever change.

Or more explicitly:
- Load mod fresh, not a save state.
- take the treasure deck out of the gloomhaven box (right click -> search)
- Search the treasure deck for treasure 41 (right click -> search) and take it out
- change state to 2 (right click -> state -> 2)
- A brief "0%" displays up top next to my player name
- check the reward deck, confirm it is 45 cards, and does not have Black Knife.

Ok I found it. For some reason it's in the Prosp. 7 deck. Not sure why, but search that.
Orthopraxis Apr 4, 2020 @ 1:16pm
Ok! Interestingly enough, in a fresh load, that item is in Prosperity deck 7 regardless. That takes care of my current issue - my ongoing concern will be what happens if I need more of these items... going to check real quick and see if they are all just around somewhere.
Orthopraxis Apr 4, 2020 @ 1:27pm
Ok I went through a bunch of the treasure items and were able to find all of them, either in various prosperity decks, or in the reward deck. I think part of my issue is I've been playing this campaign for more than a year, and assumed these treasure chest items would only ever become yours if you loot them - and if you miss them, you need to replay the scenario.

However what this has taught me some items (like this one that started this thread) can either be found "early" by looting a chest, OR will eventually become yours via prosperity increases. Hence why it lives with it's prosperity deck here. And items that never become yours except by looting live in the reward deck.

It makes sense once you understand it, and I feel stupid for not loading a fresh instance, selecting all the items, hitting "G" to combine them, and searching the combined deck.

Thank you everyone who responded for your help, and particularly to Kijan for this mod and the work that went into it! My group has been meeting one or two Thursdays a month for more than a year. Being able to continue our campaign with the help of TTS and this mod is amazing.
