It could be this, but a change could be the 8 ball in general deals more damage by distance (like how bonk from the sandman is longer based on distance) but not have a side effect like bonk or bleeding.

I was thinking more something like

Pros:
+25% Melee range

Neutral: Launches a ball with MASSIVE knockback with no damage (like the loose cannon)
has a chance to break the bat, (respawns after some time, similar to spy-cicle)
(both ball and bat regenerate, Bat takes longer)

Cons:
-25 swing speed
no random crits. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I was thinking something like
Pros:

Hold Mouse 2 to charge how far the 8 ball will go and like Master said the ball acts like the Loose cannon.

Each consecutive hit with the pool stick gains 5% more damage (Max 40% increase)

Cons:

The Pool stick will break after 8 hits and come back if your get the ball back or you wait 16 sec.

If you miss a swing the extra damage is lost

+Ball when launched will add a random debuff for 10 sec(jar,fire,reduced reduce crit chance marked for death healing,bleed,milk,slow,)
+when the ball is held+25% crit chance for all weapons(each weapon applys a seprate debuff)
missing the ball gives the user a random debuff
~when this weapon is in use all weapons give a debuff instead of criting(each debuff lasts 2 sec)
-debuffs last 25% longer
+25%% longer range
