Total War: WARHAMMER II

Community Bug Fix
Linux
I notice a lot of Linux players are asking about this mod in the comments. Does this mod work on the Linux/Feral version of the game?

I'm on Linux, and it crashes my game on startup.
In fact, out of the many mods I've tried, the only ones to do so are this mod, and SFO (which includes it).

Maybe something will be different once the new version is up (of both the game and this mod).

Argus, I also have experienced the same thing on my system. This mod and SFO both crash the game on startup, using the Linux version of the game.

I don't know why it doesn't work on Linux, maybe something to do with how the scripting is done? As I don't use Linux myself I can't help here sorry.

Thanks for the response CeltiK. It could be because the Linux version is still on version 1.9.0 whereas Windows just got updated to 1.9.2? If there was a way to use an older version of the mod, I could test it out.

I didn't know it was still on the 1.9.0 version but if that's the case, yup it's definitely why. I hope you guys will get the update soon for Linux.

This is the CBF version for 1.9.0

It *should* work for you guys, though I can't test it. Drop it in your data folder and activate it in the launcher even if it says it's not updated.

Thanks! Which data folder? The one with data.pack and terrain.pack and models.pack and all the other stuff?

Hi CeltiK, thanks for taking note of this topic! :)
I've tried the file you posted, and it works! (well, at least, it doesn't crash the game on startup when activated.) :)
I'm surprised, because I tried the mod about a month ago, before the update, and it always caused a crash (but I guess it was already updated for beta 1.9.2, although I thought it should also work fine with the live version).

Well, now we'll just have to wait for the Linux game version to get an update, to see if it works with the latest Bug Fixes version.

@ Tsu: Find your Steam Workshop folder, find this mod's folder there, and replace its file with the one you downloaded.
Or, if you're playing in Offline Mode, the mods (on Linux) go into "(home)/.local/share/feral-interactive/Total War WARHAMMER II/VFS/Local/local_mods".
This mod's folder is "1234481316"

I subscribed to the mod, found the location in
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/594570/1234481316
and replaced the file in that folder with the older copy. It works! ...However, I have noticed that when I play in offline mode, the game says "no mods found" and all the mods I'm subscribed to disappear from the list in the launcher. How do I use the local_mods folder?

Alright, I figured out how to use the local_mods folder. I simply replaced the local_mods folder with a symlink to
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/594570
and now I have the same mods in the mod list in the launcher even when I am in offline mode

Good news, the game just got updated to 1.9.2
Argus Aug 13, 2020 @ 10:04pm
And it starts fine with the latest version of Community Bugfixes.

Yup. SFO should work perfectly now too. Good news for everyone playing on Linux or Mac.
